AAU Recap Clemmons 9/22-9/23/18

Several ranked teams from a year ago were in the fields in Clemmons this past weekend. In addition, multiple high profile organization such as East Rowan, the Carolina Rockies, the Spartans, Reidsville Luckies, and Five Star Carolina had teams in action. Here we recap the weekend's AAU games from the Clemmons site.

East Rowan went 2-0 on Saturday with an 11-1 win over East Rowan 7u and a 17-6 win over the Davidson Crush. Spartans - Mullins also went 2-0 in pool play with an 11-2 win over the Rockies and a 16-1 win over Five Star Carolina. On Sunday in the Gold bracket play-in games, the Rockies topped East Rowan 7u 9-1 and the Davidson Crush scored an 11-1 win over Five Star Carolina. In the semifinals, East Rowan topped the Rockies 9-1 and Spartans - Mullins edged the Davidson Crush 7-6 to reach the finals. In the finals, East Rowan rolled to a 12-1 win to take home the 8u title.

The HPT HiToms went 2-0 on Saturday in Clemmons with a 9-4 win over the Carolina Rockies and a 7-6 win over the Summerfield Stars, who finished 12th in our final 8u rankings last year. Reidsville Luckies Bronze went 2-0 in pool play with a 20-4 win over Spartans - Allen, who finished 10th in our final 8u rankings last year, and a 16-9 win over the Carolina Rockies. In the bracket play play-in game, the Summerfield Stars scored an 8-2 win over the Carolina Rockies. In the semifinals, Reidsville Luckies Bronze notched a 5-1 win over Spartans - Allen and the HPT HiToms edged past the Summerfield Stars 7-6. In the finals, the HiToms finished off an undefeated weekend with a 3-2 win over Reidsville Luckies Bronze.

Five Star Carolina - Hilton, who finished #10 in our final 9u rankings last year, went 2-0 on Saturday with a 16-5 win over the Pilot Mountain Dirtbags and a 12-2 win over the Carolina Strikers. The HYAA Hawks, who finished 20th in our final 2017-2018 rankings, also went 2-0 in pool play with an 18-3 win over East Rowan and a 9-8 win over the Strikers.  The Davidson County Rippers went 2-0 in pool play with a 17-8 win over the Pilot Mountain Dirtbags and a 26-8 win over East Rowan. In the Gold bracket play-in game on Sunday, the Rippers notched an 8-5 win over Carolina Rockies Gray. In the semifinals, the HYAA Hawks topped the Davidson Crush 11-3 and Five Star - Hilton edged past the Davidson County Rippers 12-11. In the finals, Five Star Carolina - Hilton was able to roll to a 12-3 win over the HYAA Hawks to take home the 10u title in Clemmons.

Elite Baseball went 2-0 on Saturday with a 10-3 win over Rockies White and a 6-5 win over East Rowan. The DC Vipers also went 2-0 in pool play with a 15-4 win over Surry North and a 19-6 win over Carolina Impact - Routh. Luckies - Taylor scored two wins in pool play as well with a 14-3 win over East Rowan and an 8-7 win over Rockies White. In the bracket play play-in games on Sunday, Rockies White scored a 12-8 win over Surry North and Luckies Taylor notched a 6-1 win over East Rowan. In the semifinals, Elite Baseball blanked Rockies White 10-0 and Luckies - Taylor notched an 11-7 win over the DC Vipers. In the finals, Elite Baseball finished off an undefeated weekend with a 5-3 win over Luckies Taylor.

Spartans - Hutchens went 2-0 in pool play with an 8-0 win over the Carolina Rockies and a 15-0 win over the Davidson Knights. Power Baseball was also 2-0 on Saturday with a 16-4 win over Select Baseball and a 5-1 win over Big Cat Baseball. In the bracket play play-in game on Sunday, the Carolina Rockies scored a 15-0 win over Select Baseball. In the semifinals, the Carolina Rockies topped Power Baseball 10-6 and Spartans - Hutchens blanked Big Cat Baseball 10-0. In the finals, Spartans - Hutchens blasted their way to an 18-1 win over the Carolina Rockies and a 4-0 record for the weekend.

Cougars Baseball went 2-0 in pool play with an 8-1 win over Elite Baseball and a 7-6 win over Carolina Rockies - Tuttle. The South Rowan Hammerheads also went 2-0 in pool play after a 4-3 win over Select Baseball and an 11-7 win over the Diamond Deacons. On Sunday in the bracket play play-in games, Select Baseball scored a 7-3 win over Elite Baseball and Rockies - Tuttle edged past the Diamond Deacons 7-6. In the semifinals, Select Baseball blanked the Hammerheads 4-0 and Cougars Baseball scored a 5-1 win over Rockies -Tuttle. In the finals, Cougars Baseball completed a 4-0 weekend with a 6-3 win over Select Baseball.
