Some of the best teams in the state of North Carolina were in action this past weekend in Lexington, South Carolina to take on some of the best teams in the Southeast. It was an exciting weekend of baseball filled with some excellent performances and some surprising results that will surely have some impact on our rankings this week. This past weekend the AAU sites featured a couple of all-Dirtbags finals and a dominating run by the 10u NCDB Rivercats. Several top 10 and top 20 teams were in action as well. Check out the full recap of the weekend’s AAU games.
Some of the best teams in the state of North Carolina will be heading down to South Carolina this weekend to compete in the USSSA South Carolina Super NIT. This event features some of the best teams from South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee and should produce some exciting baseball. Canes Baseball NC – Gilchrist and Minion will both be going for another Super NIT championship this spring as teams continue to chase points and competition in preparation for the USSSA Demarini World Series this summer. There should be an interesting weekend of play for the North Carolina USSSA sites. There aren’t as many teams in action, but there are a number of top 10 and top 20 in action. We’ve provided a brief summary of the weekend’s upcoming games.

Many top 20 teams were in action at the different USSSA sites with some exciting games including a match-up of top 5 12u teams in Charlotte. We continued to see some dominant performances from some of our top teams such as 8u #2 Lake Norman Vipers and 9u #2 SBA Canes – Simmons. Check out our recap of the weekend’s games.
There was an absolute ton of games at the Top Gun sites this past weekend with over 250 teams in action. Perhaps none bigger than the match-up between 12u #2 East Rowan and #3 Legends Baseball in the finals in Wake County. We also saw Dirtbags teams all over the state competing for titles and even all-Copperheads and all-Mission Vipers finals in some age groups. 4 teams across 2 age groups made the trip to Georgia this weekend for the Triple Crown Back to School Backyard Brawl. The North Carolina teams held their own, going a combined 7-1 in pool play and with 11u #2 SBA Canes – Ross taking home the 11u title. The 13u Championship was a great 4-team field featuring #4 East Coast Clippers, #8 NCDB Rivercats, and #10 Dirtbags – Smith, as well as Dirtbags – Yates. There was some exciting games and all around excellent competition. In the end, NCDB was able to outlast the field to take home the title. Here’s a brief recap of the weekend’s games.
