The 12u age group had perhaps the most competitive race for #1 of any age group, with at least 6 teams staking a claim for the top spot. In the end, that lead to significant controversy, even among ourselves, over where each of the top 6 should be ranked. Here we’ll lay out our rationale for our rank order for the top 6 and the rest of the top 20 in an outstanding age group. 

It was a competitive year in the 11u age group this past year, with 4 teams being featured in the Perfect Game national top 100. While Canes Baseball NC – Foster and the SBA Futures have been the top rivals in this age group for the past 2 years, this year it was Canes – Foster who seemed to separate themselves from the rest of the pack. Dirtbags Black was also one of the surprises in this age group, settling in at a firm #3 throughout most of the spring right behind the Canes and Futures. The 10u age group may be the best overall age group in North Carolina. With 5 teams in Perfect Game’s top 100 National 10u teams, it seems others have started to take notice of the overall talent in this age group as well. While the level of talent in the 10u age group is fun to watch, it makes separating these teams into stratified rankings quite difficult. Here we recap the season that was in the 10u age group.

The 9u age group saw two teams, SBA Premier and Dirtbags Black, really separate themselves as perhaps the two best teams in North Carolina this fall. Beyond those two, there were some surprises as well as strong performances by teams who were highly ranked as 8u teams. Here we provide a recap and rationale for our final 9u rankings this fall.

We made a late change to our 8u rankings, and moved East Rowan back up to #2. There were several teams who were just outstanding in this age group, but in the end we settled on Dirtbags Black as our #1 team this year in the 8u age group. Here we provide a recap and some rationale to how we ranked the teams in the manner we did.
