73 13u teams competed across 4 different divisions this past weekend at the Top Gun Summer World Series. The 60/90 D1 division featured 8 teams ranked in the top 20 in North Carolina, 3 in the top 10 in Virginia, and the 2nd ranked team in South Carolina. With only 6 teams making the Gold bracket in the 30-team 60/90 D1 division, pool play results were extremely important. Here we recap the 13u action from this past weekend.
7 top 20 teams from North Carolina and another top 10 team from Virginia were among the 63 11u teams that competed across 3 divisions in the Top Gun Summer World Series this past weekend. In the D1 division, we saw a bit of a surprise with #11 NCDB Rivercats making a big run through the Gold bracket on Sunday on their way to the D1 title. In the D2 division, the Alamance Patriots continued to show why they should be considered one of the better teams in North Carolina with an impressive 7-0 run to the title. 35 teams competed across 3 divisions in the 9u age group at the Top Gun Summer World Series this past weekend in Rocky Mount. Among those 3 teams, 8 of the top 20 teams in North Carolina were in action as well as 1 ranked team from Virginia. The D1 division featured 2 matchups of our #2 (Dirtbags Black) and #3 (Canes Baseball NC – Harris) teams in North Carolina, in rematches of the finals from the Triple Crown Border Wars from earlier this spring.

Perhaps the biggest tournament in North Carolina is back. Held over two weekends, the 8u, 9u, 11u and 13u age groups will get underway on Friday. 30 ranked teams from North Carolina as well as 6 ranked teams from Virginia and one from South Carolina will compete across 4 age groups this weekend in the Rocky Mount area.
