Despite the Easter holiday weekend, there are still a small number of games in Saturday-only events this weekend for Top Gun. Should be a great #7 vs #19 match up in the 10u age group with the Belmont Bandits taking on the Carolina Havoc at the Concord/Locust site. Here’s a brief preview of the Saturday games.

AAU Preview 3/31-4/1/18

It will be strictly one-day event this weekend for the Easter Holiday. Although there are less teams in action this weekend, there will still be some top 20 match-ups to keep an eye on, including at the 8u age group in Clemmons and the 10u age group in Oxford. 10u #4 Rawlings Stars will also make their spring debut this weekend. Here’s a brief preview of the AAU action this weekend.

Rankings Rationale 3/28/18

There was lots of poor weather across the state this past weekend. This meant that while many of the top teams were in scheduled to be in action, not many games were played across the state. We did make some changes to the rankings, but this was not as busy of a week as usual. The upcoming Easter weekend is also a down weekend for activity, but things really pick up after that as events like the USSSA Beast of East Select 30 Super NIT (BoE) begin to take place.

USSSA Preview 3/24-3/25/18

There are a dozen or more ranked teams in action at the USSSA sites throughout the weekend this weekend, including three #1’s (9u Park Sharon, 11u SBA Canes – Ross, and 12u East Rowan) as well as a #2 (10u SBA Canes – Marconi). This should results in some shake ups in our rankings, and some excellent baseball this weekend. Here’s a quick preview of the weekend’s USSSA action.

Rankings Rationale 3/21/18

As teams start to ramp up their schedules, we are starting to see some of the top teams go head-to-head allowing for some sorting in the rankings. The older age groups, in particular the 13u age group, remain quite stable due to inactivity of many of the top teams (presumably related to spring school sports such as baseball). Nevertheless there were some big moves in some of the age groups this week. Here’s our rationale for why we ranked teams the way we did.
