Roughly a month into the fall season, we are starting to learn more about who’s who across the age groups in North Carolina. The 8u Area Stars Orange impressed, as did their 9u counterparts. The Dirt Devils posted an impressive weekend in the 10u age group, and top 10 teams from last year, 11u Carolina Blue Trifecta and 12u NCDB Rivercats 1, showed why they belong in the discussion of best teams in their respective age groups. Here we recap the weekend’s games from across the Top Gun sites. 

There were a number of ranked teams in the various Top Gun fields this past weekend. In addition, there were several very competitive fields that contained multiple ranked teams such as the 10u field in Snow Hill (4 ranked teams) and the 11u field in Charlotte (2 ranked teams, top ranked team in South Carolina). Here we recap the weekend of Top Gun games from this past weekend. 

There were some big events this past weekend, including Perfect Game events for both the 11u and 12u age groups in Greensboro. The 12u Perfect Game event, in particular, featured 6 of the final top 10 teams in this age group from last year. In the end, the Rawlings Prospects made the first big statement of the fall in the 12u age group as they dominated the competition in Greensboro. Elsewhere, 11u Park Sharon Nationals – Pirro continued to add to their case as the top 11u team in North Carolina with another Perfect Game title. We also saw a number of ranked teams from last year in action and some great games all over the state. Here we recap the Perfect Game, USSSA, and NCGameOn sports action from around North Carolina this past weekend. 

Canes Baseball Eastern NC emerged as the top team in the 13u age group this past year, however several others made some big strides including Dirtbags TBM, Five Star Carolina – Smith, the SBA Futures, and others. Dirtbags MVP maintained their spot near the top of the rankings, as did Carolina Rockies – Wilson. Here we recap the past year in the 13u age group.

Hundreds of teams were in action across the state this past weekend as the Fall season begins to gain steam. There was a big Perfect Game event in Pineville for both the 11u and 13u age groups. In addition, several hundred teams competed across Top Gun, USSSA, and NCGameOn Sports competitions across the state. Here we recap a huge weekend of youth baseball across North Carolina.
