Rain again hindered play across the state this past Mother's Day Weekend, however several teams were able to get some games in. There were several ranked teams in action including several head-to-head battles with ranked teams in the 10u and 11u age groups around the Triangle Region. Here we recap the weekend's Top Gun games from around the state of North Carolina.

Only 3 games were played on Saturday in this one-day event. South Carolina #1 Team 24 Gamecocks - Ashley scored a 16-1 win over the LBC Spartans. The Carolina Sundevils went 0-2 in the other games played on Saturday, falling 9-4 against Concord Athletics - Boone and 22-4 against the Spartans.

Only 3 pool play games were able to be played in the 5-team 11u age group in Charlotte on Saturday. The Carolina Cannons (SC) went 2-0 with a 13-1 win over Elite Baseball EBC and a 10-3 win over the Concord Comets. The Comets fell in their other pool play game 10-9 against Legacy Baseball (SC).

Only 1 game was played in the 12u age group in Charlotte on Saturday. In that game, NC 11u #17 Copperheads - Snell/Heis scored an 8-7 win over Stars baseball (SC).

5 games were able to be completed on Saturday, and no games were played Sunday. On Saturday, North Carolina 8u #4 SBA Futures scored a 17-2 win over Cherryville Baseball. NC 9u #19 Union County Crush - Gadd topped the Carolina Lynx 9-1. Dry Pond 09 went 0-2 on Saturday, falling 12-4 against Cherryville Baseball and 10-4 against East Rowan.

Only two games were completed in pool play in the 10u American division. Copperheads - Sigler went 1-1 with a 9-4 win over NC Saints 2027 - Queler and a 9-4 loss against the Carolina Reapers.
National
All games were completed in pool play in this 6-team division. Carolina Flight (EW) earned the top seed after scoring an 18-3 win over the Cramerton Crusaders and a 6-3 win over Legacy Baseball (SC). Team 24 Gameocks - Wilson (SC) also went 2-0 on Saturday, scoring a 5-2 win over Copperheads - Duke and an 11-4 win over the Gastonia Raptors.

6 games were completed on Saturday in this 10-team division. Team 24 Gamecocks - Bailey (SC) went 2-0 with an 11-5 win over the Belmont Bombers and a 15-0 win over the Carolina Diamond 9 White Sox. The Gastonia Raptors notched a 13-3 win over the White Sox and a 6-6 tie against the DSA Bulldogs in their two pool play games. East Rowan blanked Belmont Bandits - McCarn 6-0 in their only pool play game on Saturday.

6 games were completed in pool play in this 13-team division, with no games contested on Sunday. Vision Bandits - Williams went 2-0 on Saturday, scoring a 14-4 win over the SBA Senators and a 7-6 win over Union County Crush - McLean. The Crush got past the Senators 8-3 in their other pool play game on Saturday. The Carolina Reds (SC) topped Legacy Baseball (SC) 11-3 in their only game on Saturday. Legacy Baseball scored a 16-9 win over the Bessemer City Mudcats in their other game on Saturday. The Triple Crown Lookouts edged the Bessemer City Mudcats 5-3 in their only game on Saturday.

The LKN Hurricanes went 1-1 with a 10-1 win over Legacy Baseball Red and a 10-3 loss against North Carolina #10 Athlete's Warehouse.

The Carolina Red Sox and True Grit split a pair of games on Saturday with the Red Sox scoring a 7-4 win in game 1 and True Grit getting an 8-5 win in game 2.

The China Grove Raiders scored a 7-1 win over Spartans - Speaks and the Alamance Diamondbacks blanked the Raiders 9-0 in the only two games completed in the 11u age group.

North Carolina #11 Kernersville Bulldogs scored an 11-0 win over the NC Young Guns on Saturday. In the only other game finished on Saturday, the Stanly County Renegades topped the Young Guns 7-4.
New Market

North Carolina #8 Spartans - Mullins went 2-0 in pool play and earned a spot in the finals with a 15-4 win over NC #16 Carolina Spinners and a 7-6 win over NC #3 Davidson Crush. The Crush rolled to a 20-8 win over New Market Orange and the Spinner topped the Cabarrus Bandits 11-9 in their other pool play games. The Bandits scored a 10-0 win over New Market Orange in their other pool play game to earn a spot in the finals against the Spartans. In the finals, the Spartans rolled to a 15-3 win over the Bandits to finish off a 3-0 day.

North Carolina #7 East Coast Elite took part in the 3-team D2 field this weekend in Princeton, along with NC #15 NCABC Fungo - Piscorik and the FV Wildcats. In pool play, Fungo - Piscorik went 2-0 with a 5-4 win over the FV Wildcats and an 11-1 win over East Coast Elite. The Elite also fell 5-4 against the FV Wildcats, which pushed the Wildcats and Fungo into the finals. In the finals, Fungo - Piscorik finished off a 3-0 day with a 10-0 win over the FV Wildcats.

The the 5-team D3 division, the East Carolina Bombers earned the top seed for the finals with a 10-5 win over the Wayne County Dingers and an 8-4 win over the Carolina Storm Surge. The RBI Raptors earned the second spot in the finals with a 7-6 win over Carolina Thunder Gold and a 6-5 win over the Wayne County Dingers. In the finals, the RBI Raptors edged past the East Carolina Bombers 6-5 for their 3rd 1-run victory of the day.

The 10u age group featured 3 ranked teams (#7 Dirtbags Black, #11 Dirtbags East, and #17 Carolina Titans) in the 4-team field. In pool play, Dirtbags East went 2-0 with a 7-4 win over the Carolina Titans and an 18-6 win over Eastern Impact. Dirtbags Black went 1-1 in pool play with a 12-11 win over Eastern Impact and a 5-4 loss against the Carolina Titans. Unfortunately, the finals were rained out after Dirtbags East held a 2-0 lead over the Carolina Titans in the 2nd inning.

Two ranked teams (#4 Dirtbags East and #10 NCDB Rivercats) headlined the 5-team Open field in Goldsboro this weekend, The NCDB Rivercats earned the top seed for the finals with a 14-0 win over the Carolina Raiders and an 11-7 win over Dirtbags East in pool play. They faced off against DPC Baseball Gold in the finals after DPC scored a 13-3 win over the Carolina Raiders and a 13-12 win over OC Sluggers Red in pool play. Dirtbags East topped the OC Sluggers 10-6 in their other pool play game. In the finals, the Rivercats finished off a 3-0 day with an 11-7 win over DPC Baseball Gold.

The Neuse River Broncos earned the top seed in the 10-team D3 field in Princeton after scoring a 21-0 win over the Topsail Cannons and a 5-4 win over American Dream. They were matched up against the WC Ripperz, who scored a 9-4 win over the Jacksonville Generals and a 15-3 win over the North Johnston Thunder in their pool play games. Unfortunately, the finals were rained out in the D3 field.

North Carolina #16 Carolina Rage was dominant in pool play in the 4-team D2 field, scoring a 12-1 win over the Greensboro Nationals and a 12-1 win over the Zebulon Cougars. They were matched up against the Greensboro Nationals in the finals after the Nationals topped Triangle Sports Hawks Blue 6-5 in their other pool play game. Unfortunately the finals were rained out with the Rage holding an 8-2 lead through 2 innings.

Purpose Driven South scored the top spot in the D3 finals with a 12-0 win over the Clayton RailRoaders and a 12-2 win over DPC Baseball. The faced the Carolina Wave, who scored a 9-7 win over the Railroaders and a 3-2 win over the Wayne County Bombers. In the finals, Purpose Driven South dominated again with a 16-0 win over the Wave to finish 3-0 for the day.

The Washington River Rats scored the top seed for the finals with a 15-5 win over the Hit N Run Bengals and a 9-8 win over the Carolina Freedom. The Freedom scored a 10-2 win over the Wardogs in their other pool play game and were able to earn the #2 seed in the finals. In the finals, the River Rats scored their second 1-run win over the Freedom, with an 11-10 victory.

Only 3 games were able to be played in the 13u 60/90 age group. Virginia #4 RBA South Prep went 1-1 with a 9-8 loss against Rock Solid Blue and an 11-6 win over the Akadema Punishers. The Punishers topped Gettin Dirty 6-5 in their other pool play game.
