AAU got their fall season kicked off this past weekend with games at both the Clemmons and Oxford sites. There were a bunch of teams in action across multiple age groups so we've recapped the highlights from a great weekend.

4 teams battled it out in the 8u division in Clemmons this past weekend. On Saturday Luckies Orange went 2-0 with a 13-7 win over the Carolina Spinners and a 7-5 win over the Rockies. Spartans - Mullins also went 2-0 with a 16-11 win over the Rockies and a 21-12 win over the Carolina Spinners. On Sunday in the semifinals, the Spartans topped the Rockies 16-4 while the Luckies outlasted the Spinners 22-16. In the finals, Spartans - Mullins completed an undefeated weekend with a 3-1 win in a defensive battle over Luckies Orange.

The Carolina Red Sox - Jones went 2-0 on Saturday with an 11-0 win over the DC Rippers and a 13-1 win over Hutters. The Carolina Combat went 1-1 in pool play with a 21-3 win over Carolina Rockies Gray and a 9-1 loss to Hutters. The DC Rippers also went 1-1 with a 12-2 win over the Carolina Cobras in addition to their loss against the Red Sox. In the play-in games on Sunday, the DC Rippers topped Rockies gray 12-2 and Hutters scored an 18-3 win over the Carolina Cobras. In the semifinals, the Carolina Combat edged the Rippers 8-7 while Red Sox - Jones notched an 18-10 win over Hutters. In the finals, Carolina Red Sox - Jones completed an undefeated weekend with a 15-7 win over the Carolina Combat.

3 teams faced out in a double-round robin event in the 12u age group in Clemmons this past weekend. On Saturday, the Carolina Rockies - Mayhew went 2-0 with a 4-2 win over Spartans - Hutchens and a 17-5 win over Power Baseball. Power Baseball topped the Spartans 3-2 in their other game on Saturday. On Sunday, the Rockies again with 2-0 with an 8-2 win over Power Baseball and a 12-4 win over Spartans - Hutchens. The Spartans scored a 9-0 win over Power Baseball in their other game on Sunday.

Luckies - Taylor went 2-0 on Saturday with a 14-2 win over the Carolina Dodgers and an 8-6 win over Fungo Elite - Kima. The South Wake Storm were also 2-0 in pool play, scoring a 15-5 win over the North Wake Cardinals and a 14-8 win over Squires Baseball South. In the bracket play play-in games on Sunday, the Cardinals defeated Fungo Elite - Kima 11-1 and the Squires edged the Carolina Dodgers 12-11. In the semifinals, Luckies - Taylor rolled to a 13-0 win over Squires Baseball South while the South Wake Storm notched a 15-1 win over the North Wake Cardinals. In the finals, Luckies - Taylor was able to pull out a 4-2 win over the South Wake Storm to take home the 11u crown.
