AAU Preview 3/31-4/1/18

It will be strictly one-day event this weekend for the Easter Holiday. Although there are less teams in action this weekend, there will still be some top 20 match-ups to keep an eye on, including at the 8u age group in Clemmons and the 10u age group in Oxford. 10u #4 Rawlings Stars will also make their spring debut this weekend. Here’s a brief preview of the AAU action this weekend.

Clemmons

8u

#5 Carolina Vandals, #9 Spartans – Allen, NC Young Guns, Reidsville Luckies, and the Easton Foothills Gators will face off in a one-day event on Clemmons on Saturday. The Young Guns drew both the Vandals and the Spartans, so those game should tell us a lot about where these teams stand.

9u

#9 SW Colts and #15 Davidson County Rippers will be in action in the 9u field this weekend in Clemmons. The Kernersville Cyclones, Carolina Crush, and Hawks are also in this 5-team field. The Colts will face the Crush and the Hawks, while the Rippers will take on the Cyclones and the Hawks.

10u

#4 Rawlings Stars headline the 7-team 10u field in Clemmons this weekend. They’ll take on Cougars Baseball and the DC Vipers in their two pool play games on Saturday.

12u

The 12u age group consists of an 8-team field. None of our top 20 teams are in the field and this should be a competitive division. Select Baseball Gold and the SW Colts will get things started on Saturday morning. The Rawlings Stars are also in the field and should be competitive, taking on the SW Colts and Hutters in their pool play games on Saturday.

Oxford

8u

The FV Wildcats, Virginia Squires, and DirtBagz will play a round-robin event with the top two teams meeting in a final game on Saturday.

10u

#8 Carolina Thunder, #20 Wendell Knights, and the Southside Panthers will meet in a round-robin event on Saturday with the top two teams meeting in a one-game final.

11u

There will be six teams (Carolina Generals, Diamond Strikers, DirtBags Elite, Orange Country Crushers, VA Squires, and the Zebulon Cougars) facing off on Saturday. Each team will play two pool play games with the top two teams meeting in a one-game final on Saturday evening.
