There were a handful of ranked team in play in the USSSA one-day events this weekend, including 9u #1 Park Sharon Nationals, 10u #2 SBA Canes – Marconi, and 11u #2 SBA Canes – Ross, who all played up an age group. All three teams made the finals of their age groups playing up, with Park Sharon and Canes – Ross taking home the titles playing a year up. Take a look at our recap of the weekend’s games.

The AC Sluggers went 1-0-1 in pool play with a 12-3 win over CBC and a 12-12 tie against Carolina Combat. The Combat scored a 7-6 win over Ripstix Baseball in their other pool play game. Team 24 Gamecocks – Wilson (SC) went 2-0 in pool play with a 15-3 win over Ripstix Baseball and a 13-6 win over CBC. In the finals, the Sluggers scored a 20-6 win over Team 24 to take home the title.

In the finals, the Vision Bandits scored a 14-5 win over Canes – Marconi.

11u #2 SBA Canes – Ross went 2-0 in pool play with a 12-11 win over Brohamer Baseball (SC) and a 7-6 win over the Carolina Kraken “Powered by OTK”. Brohamer topped the Kraken 11-2 in the other pool play game to set up a rematch with Canes – Ross in the finals. In the finals, Canes – Ross slugged out a 20-12 win over Brohamer Baseball.

#12 Dirtbags Charlotte went 2-0 in pool play with a 15-0 win over the South Charlotte Braves and a 7-0 win over the Asheville Braves. SBA Canes – Cruz also went 2-0 with a 10-0 win over the South Charlotte Braves and a 7-0 win over the Asheville Braves. In the finals, the Dirtbags topped SBA Canes – Cruz 10-9 to finish 3-0 for the weekend.

The Virginia Beach Knights also went 2-0 in pool play with a 19-1 win over the Tidewater Outlaws and a 21-13 win over Perquimans. In the finals, Cnaes 757 – Roach scored a 15-4 win over the Knights.

Rock Solid Black scored an 11-10 win over the Perquimans River Cats in their other pool play game to qualify for the finals. In the finals, Rock Solid Black scored a 15-2 win over the Titans.

The Carolina Impact also went 2-0 in pool play, scoring a 22-7 win over Rogue Baseball and an 18-3 win over GRIT 7u. In the semifinals, the Impact topped Luckies Gold 12-2 while the Young Guns beat GRIT 11-2. In the finals, the Impact defeated the Young Guns 14-9.

The Pfafftown Raiders went 2-0 in pool play with a 10-9 win over the Davidson County Rippers and a 7-6 win over the Kernersville Cyclones. The Rippers defeated C35 2027 27-0 in their other pool play game to reach the finals. In the finals, the Raiders topped the Rippers 12-4.

GRIT went 2-0 in pool play with a 19-0 win over Big Cats Baseball and a 13-0 win over the Easton Foothills Gators. The Luckies also went 2-0 with a 19-1 win over the Botetourt Warriors and a 21-2 win over Proehlific Power Gray. The Summerfield Stars were also 2-0 with a 12-9 win over the Triad Thunder and a 15-0 win over the Warriors, but did not reach the finals due to runs allowed. In the finals, GRIT topped the Luckies 9-6.

4G3 Training Facility went 2-0 in pool play with a 16-7 win over the Reidsville Luckies and a 14-2 win over PBC. The Blueclaws also went 2-0 with an 18-11 win over the Luckies and an 11-2 win over GRIT. In the finals, 4G3 rolled to an 18-4 win over the Blueclaws.

Team Virginia went 2-0 in pool play with a 14-2 win over 4G3 and a 14-0 win over the GBC Prospects. Rockies – Mayhew also went 2-0 in pool play with a 13-1 win over Proehlific Power and an 8-2 win over the Carolina Prospects. In the finals, Team Virginia scored a 12-1 win over the Rockies.

The Asheville Braves – Frye went 2-0 on Saturday with a 16-11 win over the RBA Heels and a 21-4 win over the Patriots. Cherryville Baseball also went 2-0 with a 17-4 win over the RBA Heels and a 20-14 win over the Patriots. In the finals, the Braves edged out Cherryville for a 13-12 win.

RBA, Heat Baseball Red, Heat Black, and the McDowell Titans all qualified for the Gold bracket by winning their only pool play games. RBA beat the Morganton Venom 26-0, Heat Red beat the WNCYSA Steam 20-5, Heat Black topped the NC Young Gnus 17-6, and the Titans beat Equip 12-11. In the Gold bracket semifinals, Heat Black beat Heat Red 6-2 while RBA topped the Titans 15-5. In the finals, Heat Black beat RBA 13-2.

The Hitmen went 2-0 in pool play with an 8-5 win over Crosstrain and an 11-0 win over the EW Havoc. Crosstrain also topped the EW Havoc 11-7 in pool play.

McDowell went 2-0 in pool play with a 10-6 win over Cougars Baseball and a 9-8 win over Athlete’s Lab Crushers. The Crushers also beat Cougars Baseball 17-1 win pool play. In the finals, McDowell topped the Crushers 8-5.

The AC Outlaws went 2-0 in pool play with a 9-1 win over WCW Red and a 7-3 win over the Carolina Thunder. The Thunder topped Equip 14-1 in their other pool play game to qualify for the finals. In the finals, the Outlaws notched a 15-3 win over the Thunder.

#18 Carolina Rams, WCW Black, McDowell Titans, and RBA White alls qualified for the Gold bracket by going 1-0 in pool play. The Rams the Hickory Hurricanes 16-1, WCW Black topped Spartans – Hutchens 13-4, the Titans beat the Carolina Crusaders 5-4, and RBA White beat NC SWAT 13-10. In the semifinals, the Rams topped RBA White 7-2, while the Titans beat WCW Black 8-7. In the finals, the Rams shut out the Titans to take a 13-0 win.

The WNCYSA Steam Blue went 2-0 in pool play with a 10-5 win over Heat Baseball and a 10-9 win over WCW. WCW also scored a 4-2 win over Heat Baseball in pool play. In the finals, the Steam scored a 10-2 win over WCW.

The Carolina Cobras scored a 17-16 win over the RBI Thunder and a 10-4 win over RBA White in pool play. RBA also notched a 16-7 win over the RBI Thunder in pool play. In the finals, the Cobras scored a 9-1 win over RBA.

Heat Baseball Red went 2-0 in pool play with a 13-1 win over the Hendersonville Hurricanes and a 9-1 win over the McDowell Titans. Athlete’s Lab Crushers went 1-1 in pool play with a 9-4 win over Diamond Mine Camo and a 7-3 loss to the McDowell Titans, but qualified for the finals because of runs allowed. In the finals, the Heat edged out the Crushers 10-9.
