Despite the rain-shortened weekend upcoming, there are still some great games upcoming. With a match up of top 10 teams in the 11u division in Charlotte, a match up of top 20 teams in the 9u division in Charlotte, and several other top 10 teams in action, this should be a great weekend of USSSA baseball. Take a look at our preview of this weekend’s games.
Charlotte

None of our top 10 will be in the field this weekend in Charlotte. The Tega Cay Titans (SC) will be in the field and take on the Weddington Wolves and the Weddington Wrecking Crew. The Wolves will also take on Elite 9 and the Wrecking Crew will take on the Cherryville Bulldogs in their other Saturday games. Elite 9 and the Bulldogs will also go head-to-head on Saturday.

#1 Park Sharon Nationals will be back in action this weekend against an excellent field. They’ll face #17 SBA Canes – Simmons, in what should be an excellent game, as well as the Mission Vipers. The Canes – Simmons will also take on Copperheads – Sigler in their other pool play game. In addition, #10 Piedmont Panthers are also in this field and will take on Weddington and SBA Canes – Goodyear in their pool play games. The top two seeds after two games will advance to the final game on Saturday evening.

#4 Mission Vipers Gold will be in action this weekend and they’ll take on L-Town Lightning and Team 24 Gamecocks (SC) on Saturday. The Tega Cay Titans (SC) are also in this field and will take on the Carolina Arsenal and the Myers Park Rebels on Saturday.

#1 SBA Canes – Ross will be back in action this weekend and they’ll take on #10 SBA Canes – Erwin and #20 Vision Bandits on Saturday. The Canes – Erwin will also face Elite 9, while the Bandits will take on the Wolverines in their other Saturday games.

#4 Park Sharon Nationals headline the 12u field in Charlotte this weekend. They’ll take on the On Deck O’s Black and Team 24 Gamecocks – Brown (SC) on Saturday. The On Deck O’s will also face SBA Canes – Thacker while the Gamecocks will face SBA Canes – Ritter in their other game on Saturday.

The 13u field will consist of 3 teams, Diamond Mine, the Stingrays, and Union County Crush – Devore going head-to-head on Saturday.
Greensboro

GRIT, FBI Kings, and GBC Prospects will all be in the 8u field this weekend in Greensboro. On Saturday, these teams will each play one another once in this Umpire Training event.

#6 Five Star Carolina – Hilton will be in the field this weekend in Greensboro. They’ll face the Luckies and GRIT on Saturday. The Luckies will also face the Kernersville Cyclones while GRIT will take on the Pfafftown Radiers in their other games on Saturday. The Cyclones and Raiders will also meet in the final game on Saturday.

GRIT, who has been in and out of our top 20, will be in action in Greensboro on Saturday. They’ll take on the Carolina Red Sox – Jones and the DC Vipers. The Red Sox will also face Big Cats Baseball while the DC Vipers will go against GRIT – Koonin in their other games on Saturday. Big Cats will also face GRIT – Koonin in their other game on Saturday.

The Piedmont Patriots, GRIT, and GRIT – Jones will all play one another in a 3-team, round-robin format on Saturday.

None of our top 20 are in this 4-team field for Saturday. GRIT will face Proehlific Power and the River City Redbirds. In addition, Spartans – Campbell will also take on both the Power and the Redbirds on Saturday.
Wilmington

The Leland Lugnuts, who were in and out of our top 10 in the fall, will be in action this weekend in Wilmington. They’ll face the Wilmington Whitecaps and the Elizabethtown Express on Saturday. The Whitecaps will also face the Whiteville Wolfpack and the Express will go against the Ogden Hurricanes on Saturday. The Hurricanes and the Wolfpack will also go head-to-head on Saturday in the final pool play game.

The Coastal Cyclones will look to get their spring started in the right direction. They’ll face the Cape Fear Mayhem and the Port City Lil’ Rebels on Saturday. The Mayhem and the Rebels will also both play against the Elizabethtown Express on Saturday in pool play.

#7 Port City Rebels will be in action this weekend in Wilmington. They’ll face the Jacksonville Generals and the Wilmington Wahoo on Saturday. Rock Solid Red should also be in contention this weekend and they’ll go against Dirtbags – Coastal and the Coastal Cyclones on Saturday in pool play.

The 11u age group will feature a 3-team double round robin format with Rock Solid Blue, the Brunswick Core, and the Pirates Elite all going head-to-head twice over the weekend.

Like the 11u age group, the 12u age group will also feature a 3-team double round robin format with Dirtbags – Coastal (SC), Rock Solid Blue, and the Cape Fear Mayhem all in the field.
