10 top 20 teams were in the various fields at the Charlotte and Greensboro USSSA sites this past weekend, including 9u #1 SBA Futures and 10u #2 SBA Nationals both playing up in Charlotte. We saw several great match ups as well as some early season upsets. Here's a rundown of the weekend's USSSA games from Charlotte and Greensboro.

NC #7 Triple Crown Lookouts opened up their spring with two wins on Saturday including a 16-3 win over Mission Vipers - Healy and a 22-2 win over the WNC Braves, and earned the top seed for bracket play. Ultimate Performance Red Sox went 2-0 as well on Saturday, scoring a 12-10 win over Mission Vipers - Healy and a 17-5 win over the Carolina Reds (SC).
In the Gold bracket play-in games, the WNC Braves topped the Carolina Reds 18-17, Ultimate Performance Red Sox rolled to a 17-2 win over Mission Vipers - Healy, and the Cherryville Sluggers topped Elite 9 (SC) 13-16. In the semifinals, the Lookouts scored a 9-3 win over the WNC Braves and the Cherryville Sluggers outlasted Ultimate Performance Red Sox 18-14. In the finals, the Triple Crown Lookouts finished off a 4-0 weekend with an 11-0 win over the Cherryville Sluggers.

NC 9u #1 SBA Futures played up in the 10u age group this weekend and went 2-0 on Saturday with a 19-1 win over CBC and a 13-5 win over On Deck - Pineville. 10u #6 SBA Americans also went 2-0 in pool play on Saturday, scoring an 8-0 win over Carolina Reds (SC) and a 20-2 win over the Myers Park Blue Sox. 5-star Heat was also 2-0 in pool play after they notched a 16-4 win over On Deck - Pineville and a 15-4 win over the SBA Generals. In the play-in game on Sunday, On Deck - Weddington scored an 11-3 win over the SBA Generals. In the semifinals, 9u SBA Futures edged past the Carolina Reds 3-2, while the SBA Americans blasted a 15-2 win over On Deck - Weddington. In the finals, SBA Americans finished off a 4-0 weekend with a 14-2 win over 9u SBA Futures.

11u #10 Athlete's Advantage Yard Goats went 2-0 in pool play, scoring a 9-4 win over On Deck - Weddington and an 8-6 win over the Myers Park Rebels. #13 SBA Nationals went 0-2 in pool play, falling 8-5 against Mission Vipers Gold and 9-1 to Mission Vipers Black. Vipers Gold scored a 10-2 win over CBC in their other pool play game, while Vipers Black scored a 10-4 win over CBC in their other pool play game. 10u #2 SBA Nationals went 2-0 on Saturday, rolling to a 14-4 win over On Deck Black and edging past the Tega Cay Titans (SC) 4-3. In the quarterfinals, the SBA Nationals topped the Carolina Reds (SC) 4-2, Athlete's Advantage Yard Goats scored a 9-5 win over 10u SBA Nationals, the Myers Park Rebels edged Mission Vipers Black 9-8, and the Tega Cay Titans topped Mission Vipers Gold 7-5. In the semifinals, the SBA Nationals topped the Yard Goats 8-5 while Myers Park Rebels scored an 18-10 win over the Tega Cay Titans. In the finals the 11u SBA Nationals finished off the comeback from a winless run in pool play with an 11-2 win over the Titans.

12u #3 Dirtbags Legends went 3-0 on Sunday, scoring a 13-1 win over the Pineville Blue Sox, a 4-2 win over the Weddington Warriors, and an 11-3 win over the Weddington Warriors. The Warriors topped the Blue Sox 10-5 in the other pool play game in this one-day event.
Two Day Event
12u #17 Carolina Blue Sox went 2-0 in pool play with an 11-2 win over CBC - Cunningham and a 15-3 win over the SBA Americans. Ultimate Performance Red also went 2-0 on Saturday, notching a 4-2 win over the SBA Americans and an 8-2 win over Team 24 Gamecocks - Lowry (SC). In the play-in game, CBC - Cunningham blanked the SBA Americans 8-0. In the semifinals, Carolina Blue Sox topped Team 24 Gamecocks - Lowry 10-5 and Ultimate Performance Red rolled to a 9-1 win over CBC - Cunningham. In the finals, the Carolina Blue Sox finished off an undefeated weekend with a 12-2 win over Ultimate Performance Red.

The GBC Prospects went 4-0 over two days of pool play, scoring an 8-5 win over GRIT - Culler and a 15-0 win over the BadBoyz on Saturday. They followed that up with a 21-2 win over the BadBoyz and a 10-1 win over GRIT - Culler on Sunday. GRIT - Culler topped the BadBoyz 15-0 on Saturdya and 14-0 on Sunday to finish 2-2 for the weekend.

The Carolina Impact went 2-0 on Saturday, scoring a 19-2 win over Proehlific Power and a 12-8 win over GRIT on Saturday. The Diamond Deacons went 1-1 in pool play against the same teams, topping the power 12-5 and falling 12-7 against GRIT. In the semifinals on Sunday, GRIT scored a 12-3 win over the Deacons and the Impact blanked the Power 10-0. In the finals, the Impact finished off an undefeated weekend with a 10-2 win over GRIT.

NC #17 Summerfield Stars went 1-1 in pool play, falling 7-5 against the Kernersville Cylones before edging out the NC Young Guns 7-6. #20 Diamond Deacons went 2-0 in pool play with an 8-0 win over the Diamond Deacons and a 9-3 win over the Cyclones. In the bracket play play-in game on Sunday, the Cyclones scored a 10-2 win over the Carolina Impact. In the semifinals, the Cyclones defeated the Diamond Deacons 14-2 and the Summerfield Stars rolled to a 10-3 win over the NC Young Guns. In the finals, the Stars finished off a 3-1 weekend with an 11-4 win over the Kernersville Cyclones.

In the play-in game on Sunday, Rock Solid Kernersville edged past the Star City Blaze 6-5. In the quarterfinals, the Diamond Deacons scored an 11-4 win over GBC Prospects - Tagliaferro, GBC Prospects - Breedlove notched an 11-3 win over the Triad Thunder, GRIT rolled to a 12-1 win over Rock Solid Kernersville, and Proehlific Power scored a 9-1 win over GRIT - Patton. In the semifinals, GBC Prospects - Breedlove rolled to a 19-4 win over the Diamond Deacons and GRIT moved onto the finals with a 10-2 win over Proehlific Power. In the finals, GBC Prospects - Breedlove were able to pull off the upset, Blanking GRIT 6-0.

In pool play, the Diamond Deacons went 2-0 scoring a 6-5 win over the Reidsville Luckies and an 11-1 win over NCBA Green to earn a spot in the one-game final. The Luckies topped NCBA Green in the other pool play game to also earn a spot in the final. In the finals, Diamond Deacons finished off a 3-0 day with a 6-1 win over the Luckies.
