East Coast Clippers 13u spring 2020 tryouts announced

The East Coast Clippers have announced tryout dates for their 13u team for the Spring and Summer 2020 seasons. This team will consist of (12) players who will compete in Division 1/Majors 13U tournaments on a 60/90 field. The team will have a paid professional coaching staff, a full-time team administrator/scheduler, and treasurer. Tournaments will be played locally in the spring and will expand to VA, SC, and GA into the summer.

There will be a signing day and team kick off meeting Sunday Nov 10th (location TBD). There will be winter team workouts with the season beginning March 7, 2020 and concluding in early July 2020.  Selected players are NOT DISCOURAGED from playing for their respective middle school teams.

Tryout format

10 min dynamic warm up -Timed 60-yard dash, Ground balls and fielding from SS with throws to 1B, Fly balls and fielding from RF with throws to 2B and 3B, On field BP with coach pitching
Pitchers:  10 pitches from 60’ mound (5 fastballs, 5 secondary pitches)
Catchers: receiving during pitching tryout, pop time to 2B.

Players should be dressed in full baseball uniform, protective gear, and bring all necessary clothing for multiple positions and changing weather and field conditions.  During batting sessions all players must use a USSSA approved -3 or max -5 bat, no wooden bats please.

Time: Check in at 12:30 pm, tryout from 1:00-3:00 pm
Location: Cary Academy Baseball Facility (1500 N. Harrison Ave, Cary, NC)
