There was some exciting baseball this past weekend at the Clemmons AAU site, with several ranked teams in the fields, particularly in the younger age groups. The appearance of some all star teams also shook things up a bit in Clemmons this weekend. Here's a recap of the weekend's games.

#9 Summerfield Stars went 2-0 on Saturday with a 19-6 win over the 7u DC All Stars and an 11-0 win over the DC American All Stars. #10 Spartans - Allen also went 2-0 on Saturday with an 11-1 win over the DC American All Stars and a 20-12 win over the 8u SWA All Stars. The 8u SWA All Stars scored a 19-4 win over the 7u DC All Stars in their other pool play game. In the play-in game, the 7u DC All Stars topped the DC American All Stars 11-8. In the semifinals, 8u SWA All Stars scored a 15-2 win over Spartans Allen, and the Summerfield Stars scored an 18-3 win over the 7u DC All Stars. In the finals, the 8u SWA All Stars edged out the Stars for a 7-6 win and a tournament title.

#10 SW Colts went 2-0 in pool lay with a 19-0 win over SBA Canes - Rinaman and a 15-6 win over the Pfafftown Raiders. The Diamond Deacons also went 2-0 on Saturday with a 6-3 win over GRIND and a 9-7 win over the Pilot Mountain Dirtbags. The Davidson County Rippers also went 2-0 on Saturday, notching a 14-3 win over the Carolina Red Sox - Haynes and a 24-2 win over the Carolina Crush. In the Gold bracket play-in game, the Raiders scored a 10-0 win over Red Sox - Haynes. In the semifinals, the Raiders topped the Davidson County Rippers 12-4 and the Colts scored a 6-2 win over the Diamond Deacons. In the finals, the Colts notched a 14-6 win over the Pfafftown Raiders to finish 4-0 for the weekend.

Big Cats Baseball went 2-0 in pool play with a 15-6 win over the Pilot Mountain Dirtbags and a 14-6 win over the Carolina Red Sox - Koontz. The Luckies also went 2-0 in pool play, scoring a 13-3 win over the David White Sox and a 20-5 win over the Red Sox. In the play-in game, the Dirtbags notched a 9-6 win over the Red Sox - Koontz. In the semifinals, Big Cats blanked the Davie White Sox 14-0 and the Luckies rolled to a 12-2 win over the Dirtbags. In the finals, the Luckies secured a 12-6 win over Big Cats Baseball to take home the 10u title.

The Chatham Phoenix went 2-0 in pool play with a 12-2 win over the Yellow Jackets and a 22-0 win over Select Baseball. The Statesville Sluggers went 2-0 as well in pool play with an 11-7 win over China Grove and an 18-3 win over Select Baseball. In the play-in games, China Grove notched a 7-3 win over the GBC Prospects while the Yellow Jackets topped Select Baseball 16-0. In the semifinals, the Yellow Jackets scored a 10-3 win over the Statesville Sluggers and the Chatham Phoenix blanked China Grove 8-0. In the finals, the Chatham Phoenix notched an 11-3 win over the Yellow Jackets.

On Saturday, PBC went 1-1 with an 11-0 win over Hutters and an 11-8 defeat against the BlueClaws. The Diamond Deacons went 2-0 on Saturday with a 13-5 win over the Carolina VooDoo and an 11-8 win over Select Silver. On Sunday, PBC topped Select Silver 8-7 to reach the semifinals. In the semifinals, PBC notched a 7-1 win over the Diamond Deacons and the BlueClaws scored an 8-0 win against the VooDoo. In the finals, the BlueClaws rolled to a 19-3 win over PBC.

In the Open division, the VA Dirtbags went 2-0 on Saturday with a 9-1 win over 4G3 and a 15-6 win over Rockies - Mayhew. The Rockies topped the Carolina Prospects 7-2 in their other pool play game, while the Prospects scored a 3-1 win over the Diamond Deacons in their other pool play game. In the play-in game, the Rockies topped the Diamond Deacons 6-4. In the semifinals, the Prospects scored a 7-4 win over 4G3 and the Rockies blanked the VA Dirtbags 4-0. In the finals, Rockies - Mayhew used some powerful hitting to score a 13-5 win over the Prospects.

The Karolina Kraken went 2-0 on Saturday with a 13-5 win over Spartans Baseball and a 10-6 win over Hutters. Rockies - Tuttle was also 2-0 in pool play with an 11-2 win over the EW Havoc and a 12-7 win over Hutters. In the play-in game, Spartans Baseball scored a 9-7 win over Hutters. In the semifinals, the Kraken edged the EW Havoc 5-4 while Rockies - Tuttle notched a 13-5 win over Spartans Baseball. In the finals, the Kraken were dominant, scoring an 11-1 win over Rockies - Tuttle.
