As noted in the preview, the Carolina Spinners appeared to be the favorite headed into the tournament. For the most part they performed just a like a favorite should, going 2-0 on Saturday with a 6-3 win over Spartans – Speaks and a 16-7 win over GBC Prospects. Spartans – Speaks rebounded from an 0-2 Saturday that also included a 12-6 loss to the Summerfield Stars, to win their semifinals game against the Summerfield Stars by the score of 12-1, before beating the Spinners in the finals.
