AAU has shortened their Oxford tournament to a one-day event because of the impending cold and rain on Sunday. Nevertheless, there are some great teams in action, including several in our top 20 who will be going head-to-head.. This should be another good weekend of baseball in Oxford. This will be a competitive 4-team age group this weekend, with some interesting match-ups. #3 Dirtbags Platinum is the headliner, and they’ll take on #16 Carolina Thunder in their first game on Saturday. They’ll follow that up with a game against North Wake Elite. The Thunder will take on the Carolina Tide in their other pool play game on Saturday. The Tide will also face the Elite in their other pool play game. The top two seeds in this age group will make the Saturday final.
11u
The 11u age group should be very competitive this weekend in Oxford. The North Wake Shockwave will look to build on a successful fall campaign, and will start their spring against Western Tidewater Rage Elite and the Diamond Strikers on Saturday. The Rage will also face the Alamance Angles and the Strikers will go against Zone Select in their other games on Saturday. Zone Select and the Angels will also face off. Much like the 10u age group, the top two seeds after pool play will compete in the championship game on Saturday afternoon.
