Rain washed out Saturday play in Virginia, so the Dirtbags contingent who made the trip to Richmond were left with a one-day event on Sunday. All three Dirtbags teams faced off against excellent competition, and none of the North Carolina Dirtbags teams were able to qualify for the 4-team bracket play competition. Here we recap the results for the North Carolina teams in action in Richmond this past weekend.
Unfortunately Mother Nature hindered the USSSA’s best-laid plans as rain washed out all games on Saturday and completely wiped out bracket play in the 10u Majors division. Despite that, many games were played on Friday, and bracket play continued on Sunday for all but the 10’s as 5 champions were crowned on Sunday. The Park Sharon Nationals (9u), Minion (12u), and Canes NC – Gallaher (13u) all repeated as champions, defending their fall 2017 Beast of the East titles. With so many top 20 teams in action across all the age groups, there was lots exciting games going on Friday evening and all day Sunday. Here we recap the weekend’s results.
Triple Crown Sports comes to Richmond, VA this weekend. While this won’t be the major draw for North Carolina teams, there are a handful of highly ranked North Carolina teams making the trek up for the weekend. Here we highlight the North Carolina teams in actions this weekend in Richmond.
Three AAU sites will be in action this weekend including the Wood Bat World Series in Kinston. The 9u age group in Kinston will be exciting to follow and features #7 Carolina Titans, #12 Rock Solid Red, and an excellent Dirtbags East team. We’ve posted a preview of all the weekend’s AAU action.
There will be a handful of top 10 and top 20 teams in action at the Top Gun sites this weekend. Most notably, in the 8u age group #2 Carolina Threshers, #6 Dirtbags Black, and #7 Carolina Stingers will all be in a single field in Snow Hill. It should be another great weekend of Top Gun baseball. Here’s a preview of the weekend’s action.
Here it is. The biggest tournament of the spring in North Carolina has arrived. This will be one of the biggest, and certainly most competitive of the early spring season. There will be a TON of top 20 teams in action across multiple age groups. This will be an exciting event and will certainly lead to some movement in our rankings when all is said and done. Here we preview the competition and offer some thoughts about the upcoming action.

It was an eventful day of baseball at the Clemmons and Oxford sites this weekend with multiple top 20 teams in action. Some head-to-head match ups amongst ranked teams as well as some upsets made for a exciting day. Here’s a brief recap.
