Its another big USSSA Super NIT weekend in the Southeast this weekend, with teams descending on Lexington, South Carolina to try and earn their spot in the USSSA Demarini Elite World Series later this summer. Many of the very best teams from North Carolina will be in action, including the #1 and #2 North Carolina teams in 5 out of 6 age groups. In total, there will be 54 ranked teams from North Carolina and 9 ranked teams from South Carolina competing in the Majors divisions this weekend, as well as multiple teams ranked in Perfect Game’s National top 100s. 447 teams across 9 age groups (6u-14u) are signed up to play in Atlanta this upcoming weekend in what may be the biggest event of the spring in the southeastern United States. In total, 6 teams from North Carolina and 1 from South Carolina will make the trip down to Atlanta this weekend to test themselves against some of the best competition from 10 different states. Rain has slowed the start of the Spring 2019 baseball season across the region. That shouldn’t be a problem this weekend, as 30 teams across 4 age groups will take to the all-turf fields at Shipyard Park in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Among those 30 teams, teams from 5 states (GA, NC, SC, VA, and WV) including 8 ranked teams from North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia will be in action. Highlighting these fields will be the 11u D1 field in which 5 of the 6 teams are ranked in the top 10 in their respective states, and the 6th team almost certainly will be soon.
