Although the schedules are not yet released, we wanted to provide a rundown of some the teams who will be in action at the PerfectGame Coastal Select Championship this weekend in the Charlotte area. Originally scheduled in the Raleigh area, this event was recently moved to the Charlotte area. Nevertheless, most teams remain in the fields, although this can change leading up to schedule release. Here's a brief preview of some of the teams competing this weekend.

Only 3 9u teams are in the field this weekend, so this division may be up in the air. Teams in the field include Team 24 Black (SC), 5 Star Carolina Elite, and SBA Stars - Goodrum.
10u
7 teams are currently in the field in the 10u age group, with one other team pending. 3 teams currently ranked in North Carolina will be in action. The field is lead by NC #6 Carolina Cardinals, but also includes #9 Mission Baseball - Smith, #13 Carolina Revolution, as well as 5 Star Carolina - Secrist, the Aldie Senators (VA), Dry Pond Black, and Team 24 Black -Ardis. This will be a great early season test for several top teams in North Carolina.
11u
The 11u age group will be a very interesting age group to follow as 6 ranked teams from North Carolina and 2 from South Carolina will be among the 11 teams currently in the field. The field will feature 4 top ten teams in NC including #2 Dirtbags Black, #4 Canes Baseball NC - Pirro, #6 Rawlings Prospects NC - Piscorik, #8 Carolina Rockies - Sullivan, #20 Outlaws Baseball, as well as South Carolina #1 Team 24 Black and #4 SC Warhawks - Moody. Additionally, newly formed Five Star Carolina - Neyra who is a combination of previously ranked teams could also be a team to watch out for.

Currently 7 teams are signed up for 12u age group this weekend. This includes 5 ranked teams in North Carolina - #11 Canes Baseball NC - Wiggins, #17 Dirtbags Camo, #19 LKN Hurricanes, #20 Park Sharon Nationals - Garcia, and #22 MVP Athletics - as well as South Carolina's #1 team, Team 24 Black. Additionally, two more teams - #2 Canes Baseball NC - Pirro and #9 5 Star Carolina Elite are accepted teams for the field. This will make for a really tough early season test for these teams, and should provide the opportunity for a strong message for several teams.

The 13u age group has 9 teams in the field this weekend. Not to put too much pressure on this group, but all eyes will be on Canes Baseball NC - Eason as this newly formed group is likely the top team in North Carolina and currently ranked 8th nationally in Perfect Game's national 13u rankings, despite not having played a single game together. This weekend will be a good measuring stick for them as 4 ranked teams from North Carolina including #4 Mission Baseball Gold, #13 Dirtbags East, #17 Luckies Platinum, and #18 5 Star Heat will be in the field.
