We had heard that. We also heard they have some 9u players playing with them, which makes it difficult for us to rank them as an 8u team. Let us know if we heard incorrectly.
Haha. We’ve haven’t been able to get to the rationales yet this spring, although that has generally been our favorite post to write. We’ll try to add it back soon.
It’s been awhile since we last checked in. How are we doing with the rankings? Where can we improve?
Thanks for this suggestion. We’re definitely thinking of adding regional and/or level of competition rankings. These seem like they would be helpful for most people. We’re trying to figure out the best way to present these types of rankings. Probably going to be something we add this winter in the off-season.
We moved them up a bit this week. Hard for us to keep track of the best teams from other states unless they routinely play the NC teams we know. Great weekend for the Rockies, though.
We’re going to try, but may not get to it. The first rankings took us a bit longer than we expected.
Those are good thoughts. We’ve kicked around similar ideas about regional rankings or even level of competition rankings like having separate D1/D2/D3 or Majors/AAA/AA rankings. In the end, we’ve found that be a bit too time consuming and difficult because of the number of teams that have to be considered for ranking across the age groups. We tend to lean more towards level of competition and W-L record within that level, as guiding us. The whole reason we started putting together rankings was exactly as you point out. So the top teams can go find some of the other top teams inside and outside of their regions.
