Much like most of the other competition across the state this weekend, play was limited due to weather. Despite this, we still saw some great action and great performances by some of the top teams in the state. Here’s a brief recap of the USSSA action this past weekend.

The Lincoln County River Rats went 2-0 with a 15-0 win over the Carolina Reds and a 16-13 win over the Cherryville Bulldogs. East Rowan – Fisher also went 2-0 on Saturday with a 17-2 win over Elite 9 (SC) and a 12-10 win over Cherryville.

#1 Park Sharon Nationals continues to dominate in-state, notching a 17-2 win over SBA Canes – Goodyear and an 18-1 win over the Mission Vipers. #7 SBA Canes – Simmons continued their excellent play this spring with a 12-2 win over the Carolina Reds (SC) and a 12-1 win over Copperheads – Sigler. #8 Piedmont Panthers also went 2-0 on Saturday, scoring a 13-10 win over Copperheads – Sigler and a 19-6 win over ER- Smith.

#3 Mission Vipers Gold finished a surprising 0-2 this weekend, falling 11-8 to CBC and 12-2 to #19 East Rowan. CBC fell 11-2 in their other game against Mission Vipers Black, while East Rowan topped #12 Carolina Havoc 11-7 in their second game. GRIT also went 2-0 this weekend, with a 5-2 win over the Mission Vipers Black and a 14-10 win over the Carolina Havoc.

10u #2 SBA Canes – Marconi played up in the 11u division this weekend and went 2-0, scoring a 7-6 win over 11u #13 OTK Saints and a 15-0 win over Elite 9 (SC). OTK went 1-1 on Saturday with a 7-4 win over CBC Baseball Club in their other game.

11u #1 SBA Canes – Ross played up this past weekend and went 2-0 including a 13-1 win over Upstate Select and a 11-0 win over Team 24 Gamecocks – Miller. The SBA Grizzlies also went 2-0 with a 20-11 win over the On Deck O’s and a 12-6 win over the MP Colonels. Carolina Kraken also went 2-0, scoring an 8-3 win over the KM Storm and a 5-3 win over the MP Colonels.

SBA Canes – Cruz went 2-0 on Saturday with a 6-1 win over the Stingrays, and a 7-0 win over Mayhem Baseball.

GRIT went 2-0 on Saturday with an 18-4 win over Proehlific Power and a 17-7 win over the GBC Prospects. The NC Young Guns took out the Carolina Curve 14-6 in their only game on Saturday. #10 Summerfield Stars did not get in any games because of the rain.

#6 Five Star Carolina – Hilton recorded a 15-0 win over the Carolina Impact in their only game on Saturday. The Kernersville Cyclones scored an 11-4 win over GRIT and a 19-3 win over GRIT to go 2-0 on Saturday. #18 Summerfield Stars was rained out and unfortunately did not get to play this weekend.

#10 Dirtbags Black scored a 9-2 win over Carolina Red Sox – Jones as well as an 8-8 tie against Proehlific Power in their two games on Saturday.

Spartans – Hutchens went 2-0 this past weekend in Greensboro, scoring a 5-4 win over the Triad Thunder and a 17-8 win over the Reidsville Luckies.

#1 East Rowan did not get to finish any games this weekend. #8 Majestic Greensboro slugged their way to a 10-4 win over Five Star Carolina – Smith in their only game this past weekend. 11u #10 Big Game 2025 was able to get in one game and edged out Spartans – Campbell 4-3.

The Venom Stars went 2-0 in pool play with a 15-0 win over the Asheville Braves and a 14-3 win over the Asheville Braves – Frye. The Bears also went 2-0 in pool play scoring a 9-2 win over the RBA Heels and an 11-3 win over the Asheville Braves. In the championship game, the Venom Stars shut out the Bears 8-0.

RBA and Force Baseball split a double-header, with RBA taking game one 10-1 and Force Baseball taking game 2 11-10.

RBA Heels White went 2-0 in pool play with a 19-5 win over WCW Red and a 15-1 win over NC SWAT. The McDowell Titans also went 2-0 in pool play with a 13-1 win over WCW Black and a 9-1 win over Elite Baseball. In the finals, the Titans topped RBA 5-0 to take home the 11u title.
