Schedules are posted and the first weekend of travel baseball in North Carolina is soon to be underway. 104 teams will take the field this weekend in Goldsboro. If you or your team has never participated in an Umpire Training event, these games are generally approached in one of two ways: 1) as a scrimmage or 2) as a regular game. While this might produce some interesting or unexpected results, they are a great way for teams to get in some game situation work in a low stress environment, early in the season, on an actual baseball field. Here we highlight some of the top teams in action this weekend.
Saturday

#13 Smash Baseball will see their first action of the spring season. They'll face off against the JoCo Sox from Clayton and the Henrico Heat (VA) in their games on Saturday.
11u
In the 11u age group, 12 teams will hit the field on Saturday, including 4 D1 teams who will be separated into a D1 division. Those D1 teams are led by #7 Dirtbags East and SC #6 Carolina Titans. Dirtbags East will face NCDB Rivercats 11u2 and the Titans. The Titans will face Dirtbags Platinum in their other game on Saturday.
12u
7 teams are scheduled to play on Saturday in the 12u age group in Goldsboro. The Wendell Sharks will take on the North Wake Avalanche and the OC Sluggers, and the Avalanche and Sluggers will also go head-to-head. Both the Carolina Rage - Red and the Wilson Naturals will face the Carolina Armor and the Zebulon Cougars in their two games on Saturday.
13u
13 teams are registered to play in the 13u age group and will be split amongst 3 divisions (54/80 D3, 54/80 D2, 60/90). #19 Carolina Titans Blue will face off against the South East Outlaws and the Akadema Punishers in their two games. 12u #10 Dirtbags East will be playing up in the 54/80 D2 division on Saturday and will take on the Carolina Stars and the Walkoff Academy. 12u EC Diamondbacks - Bass will be playing up in the 54/80 D3 division, and they will face the North Raleigh Tsunami and US Elite 2024 Rage in their two games on Saturday. The Tsunami will face EC Diamondbacks - Ferrell and US Elite will go against OC Sluggers in their other games on Saturday.
Sunday

There will be 8 teams in the 8u age group on Sunday this weekend in Goldsboro. They are led by NC Coastal region #4 Rocky Mount Marshals 2029 and #5 East Carolina Bombers. The Marshals will take on the East Carolina Bombers and Greenville Athletics - Warren, while the Bombers will face off against Cleveland Wildcats Red in their other game on Sunday. Newly formed D1 Dirtbags East should be another intriguing team to watch this weekend. They are scheduled to go against the Carolina Chargers and Triangle #4 GBI Express. The Express will take on the Garner Generals on Sunday.

The 10-team 9u age group will be split into a 3-team D2 field and a 7-team D3 field for Sunday. The D2 division features several teams ranked at the state level including #5 Dirtbags East, #7 Canes Baseball NC - Harris, and #15 East Coast Elite. These 3 will all go head-to-head on Sunday in some great very early season match ups.

In the 3-team 10u age group, #12 Dirtbags East, #15 Wilson Reds, and the Carolina Raiders will all face off against one another on Sunday.
11u
11 11u teams will be split into a 3-team D1 division and an 8-team D3 division. In the D1 division, #4 Rawlings Prospects, #7 Dirtbags East, and the OC Sluggers Red will face one another on Sunday. The D3 division will feature both the Diamond Thieves and the Carolina 35's 2026S going against the Wayne County Arsenal - Stars and the Carolina Gunners. Rocky Mount Marshals 2026 and the Garner Generals will both take on the Jacksonville Generals and the WC Ripperz in their two games on Sunday.
12u
9 teams will compete in the 12u age group on Sunday in Goldsboro. The Carolina Rage will look to build on a successful fall season and will face the Carolina Armor and the Wendell Sharks in their two games on Sunday. The North Wake Avalanche will be back in action on Sunday and will take on Carolina Rage - Red and the Zebulon Cougars in their games on Sunday.
13u
16 teams will be split among 3 divisions (54/80 D2, 54/80 D3, and 60/90) in the 13u age group. In the 54/80 D2 division, Gettin Dirty and the Walkoff Academy will both face off against the Carolina Dirtdawgs and the Carolina Stars. In the 54/80 D3 division, 12u EC Diamondbacks - Bass will again be playing up and will face off against OC Crushers Black and the Carolina Boyz. US Elite 2024 Rage will also be playing again on Sunday and will take on EC Diamondbacks - Ferrell and Area Stars - Orange in their two games on Sunday. In the 60/90 age group, the Carolina Titans Blue will again be in action again on Sunday and will meet up against the Akadema Punishers and the Jacksonville Generals. The South East Outlaws will also be playing again on Sunday and will face the Punishers and the Wayne County Arsenal in their two games. The Arsenal will face off against the Generals in the final game in the 60/90 division on Sunday.
