A number of ranked teams made the trip to Charleston, South Carolina this past weekend to battle it out at Shipyard Park. Highlighting the weekend, was a match up of NC 11u #2 SBA Futures and SC #3 Charleston Revolution. Take a look at our recap of the weekend's games.

SC #2 Grey Sox went 2-0 in pool play, scoring a 3-2 win over NC #14 Smash Baseball and an 8-1 win over the OTK Saints and earned the top seed for bracket play. Smash scored a 15-9 win over the WV Bucs in their other pool play game to earn the #3 seed in the Gold bracket. Mission Vipers - Reyer received the #2 seed after a 5-2 win over NC #11 Coastal Cyclones and a 16-7 win over the Sumter Braves (SC). The Cyclones earned the 4th and final spot in the Gold bracket with a 13-7 win over Mission Vipers - McIlroy in their other pool play game. In the Gold bracket semifinals, the Grey Sox edged the Coastal Cyclones 4-3 and Mission Vipers - Reyer rolled to a 7-1 win over Smash Baseball. In the finals, the Grey Sox finished off a 4-0 weekend with a 10-3 win over Mission Vipers - Reyer.

The #2 team in North Carolina, SBA Futures, made the trip down to Charleston this weekend and scored two wins on Saturday in pool play, topping South Carolina #10 Summerville Vapor Pink and racing past the Oakleaf Knights (FL) 15-4. The Vapor scored a 6-3 win over Makos Baseball (SC) in their other pool play game to earn the #4 seed in the Gold bracket. SC #3 Charleston Revolution - Whittle also went 2-0 on Saturday, notching a 21-3 win over the TYA Tigers (NY) and an 11-1 win over Carolina Teal. In the #4/5 play-in game on Sunday, the Vapor got past Carolina Teal 4-2. In the #3/6 play-in game, SBA Futures blanked Ultimate Performance 10-0. In the semifinals, Charleston Revolution - Whittle was able to get by the Vapor with a 4-2 win while the SBA Futures blanked DSB Carolina Bullfrogs 15-0. In a great finals matchup, the pitching and defense of the Revolution was able to stymie the SBA Futures, as the Revolution notched a 5-1 win over the Futures in a great early season game.

South Carolina's #1 12u team, the Carolina Bruins, went 1-1 in pool play, falling to Bonaire Force Baseball Club (GA) 10-1 before scoring an 11-4 win over SC #7 Beufort County Bombers (Blue). This left the Bruins with the #3 seed for bracket play. Bonaire scored an 11-1 win over the North Wake Shockwave in their other pool play and earned the top seed in the Gold bracket. In the semifinals on Sunday, Bonaire blanked the On Deck O's 10-0 and the Bruins topped Rawlings Stars NC Prospects 8-5. In the finals, Bonaire again defeated the Carolina Bruins, this time by the score of 10-2. For the weekend, Bonaire outscored 4 opponents a combined 41-4.

The West Virginia Bucs went 2-0 in pool play with an 11-1 win over the Carolina Tides (SC) and a 7-3 win over PBA Palmetto Punishers (SC) and earned the top seed in bracket play. SBA West - Gooders earned the #2 seed after defeating the Carolina Tides and the Palmetto Punishers 8-4 in pool play. Rawlings Stars Warriors (SC) received the #3 seed after a 16-2 win over Precision Baseball (GA) and a 7-3 win over Bulls Bay Bandits (SC). In the #4/5 play-in game, Precision Baseball topped Ultimate Performance 5-1. In the semifinals, Rawlings Stars Warriors notched a 5-1 win over SBA West - Gooders and the West Virginia Bucs blasted their way to a 20-1 win over Precisions Baseball. In the finals, the West Virginia Bucs topped the Rawlings Stars Warriors 8-4 to finish 4-0 for the weekend.
