A handful of ranked teams from this past year were in action at the Indian Trail and the Snow Hill Top Gun sites this past weekend. Some teams made some big statements and here we recap the weekend's games.

Union County Crush - Bennett went 2-0 in pool play with a 17-2 win over the Cabarrus Cobras and a 13-4 win over the Rocky River Rage. Union County Crush - Roadcap went 0-2 in pool play with a 17-12 loss against Cabarrus Cobras and a 20-8 loss against the Rocky River Rage. In the semifinals, the Cabarrus Cobras edged past the Rocky River Rage 13-12 and Union County Crush - Bennett scored an 18-3 win over Union County Crush - Roadcap. In the finals, the Crush finished out a 4-0 weekend with a 15-3 win over the Cabarrus Cobras.

Union County Crush - Gadd went 2-0 on Saturday with a 15-0 win over the Carolina Storm and an 18-0 win over the Stanly County Stars. Inferno Baseball/Wayne Automatic Fire also went 2-0 on Saturday with an 11-10 win over the Stanly County Stars and a 17-10 win over the Carolina Storm. On Sunday in the semifinals, Inferno Baseball scored a 10-9 win over Stanly County Stars and Union County Crush - Gadd scored a 16-1 win over the Carolina Storm. In the finals, Crush - Gadd completed a 4-0 weekend with a 20-7 win over Inferno Baseball.

Union County Crush - Allen went 2-0 on Saturday with a 15-5 win over PR Regulators and a 10-5 win over the DSG Hitmen. The LKN Hurricanes, who finished 7th in our final 2017-2018 9u rankings, earned the #2 seed for bracket play with a 14-13 win over the Carolina Flight (EW) and a 14-3 win over SBA LKN Canes - Rinaman. Canes - Rinaman earned the #5 seed for bracket play with a 7-5 win over the Flight and earned the #5 seed in the Gold bracket. In the #4/5 play-in game, SBA LKN Canes - Rinaman topped the DSG Hitmen 11-1. In the semifinals, the LKN Hurricanes topped the Bulldogs 7-6 and SBA LKN Canes Rinaman scored a 15-8 win over Union County Crush - Allen. In the finals, LKN Hurricanes notched a 19-10 win over SBA LKN Canes Rinaman.

The 11u American division was a 4-team, 1-day event. Aces - Edwards notched a 12-2 win over the Carolina Express and a 9-4 win over the LBC HammerHeads in pool play. The Carolina Express scored a 7-4 win over the SOTG Muddawgs in their other pool play game which was enough to get them into the finals. In the finals, Aces - Edwards scored an 8-0 win over the Carolina Express.

The Rocky River Rage earned the #1 seed for bracket play with a 10-0 win over Union County Crush - Henry and a 12-8 win over Ultimate Performance. Ultimate Performance topped Concord Athletics 12-3 in their other pool play and earned the #4 seed for bracket play. The LKN Hurricanes earned the #2 seed for bracket play with a 8-4 win over SBA Canes LKN and a 12-9 win over Aces - Hartsell. In the semfinals, the LKN Hurricanes scored an 8-7 win over Ultimate Performance Red and Ultimate Performance notched a 10-5 win over the Rocky River Rage. In the finals, the LKN Hurricanes notched a 17-2 win over Ultimate Performance.

The Stanly County Titans went 2-0 in pool play with a 28-0 win over the Carolina Bombers and a 22-7 win over the Cabarrus Knights. The Knights notched a 10-8 win over the Stanly County Canines in their other pool play game. In the semifinals, the Cabarrus Knights notched an 8-5 win over the Stanly County Canines and the Stanly County Titans blanked the Carolina Bombers 13-0. In the finals, the Stanly County Titans scored an 11-3 win over the Cabarrus Knights.

Rocky Mount Marshals 2029 went 2-0 in pool play with an 11-3 win over the East Carolina Bombers and a 13-3 win over the Carolina Naturals. The East Carolina Bombers scored a 14-13 win over the Carolina Naturals in their other pool play game and reached the finals. In the finals, the East Carolina Bombers scored an 8-3 win over Rocky Mount Marshals 2029.

Canes Baseball NC - Harris, previously the Carolina Threshers and who finished 3rd in our final 2017-2018 8u rankings, went 2-0 in pool play with a 17-2 win over Rocky Mount Marshals 2028 and a 9-0 win over Greenville Athletics - Whitley. Dirtbags East, who finished 13th in our final 8u rankings last year, also went 2-0 in pool play. They notched a 9-7 win over Carolina Rampage Baseball and a 10-2 win over Area Stars - Smith. In the Gold bracket #4/5 play-in game, Area Stars - Smith notched a 15-7 win over Greenville Athletics - DHL. In the semifinals, Dirtbags East edged past Greenville Athletics - Whitley 7-5 and Canes - Harris scored an 11-3 win over the Area Stars. In the finals, Dirtbags East fell behind 11-6 through 4 innings, but scored 4 runs in both the top of the 5th and 6th innings to take a 14-12 win over Canes - Harris.

The Carolina Chargers earned the top seed in the Gold bracket after a 17-1 win over Triangle Sports Hawks Blue and a 13-10 win over Eastern Impact. Area Stars - Roberts earned the #2 seed with an 11-10 win over the Winterville Knights and a 13-3 win over Carolina Rampage Baseball. The Rampage scored an 11-6 win over Greenville Athletics - Givens in their other pool play game. In the Gold bracket semifinals, Greenville Athletics - Givens topped the Area Stars 9-5 and the Rampage blasted their way to a 12-10 win over the Chargers. In the finals, the Rampage notched a 12-1 win over Greenville Athletics to take home the 10u title.

The PC Dynamite went 2-0 in pool play with a 22-4 win over Dirtbags East Gold and a 9-5 win over the Rocky Mount Raiders. Carolina Titans - Ambrose also went 2-0 in pool play with a 12-5 win over the Carolina Pilots and a 12-8 win over Greenville Athletics. The East Carolina Bombers earned the #3 seed with a 12-10 win over Greenville Athletics and a 10-4 win over the Carolina Pilots. In the Gold bracket #4/5 play-in game, the Rocky Mount Raiders scored a 6-3 win over the WC Ripperz. In the semifinals, the PC Dynamite notched a 7-6 win over the Raiders and the Bombers scored a 1-run 6-5 win over Carolina Titans - Ambrose. In the finals, PC Dynamite was able to complete a 4-0 weekend with a 12-9 win over the East Carolina Bombers.

Carolina Titans Blue went 2-0 in pool play with a 13-11 win over Carolina Rage - Red and a 9-6 win over the Carolina Shockwave. The Perquimans Rivercats earned the #1 seed for bracket play with a 24-0 win over RBI Raptors - Guise and a 6-3 win over the Carolina Muddawgs. Greenville Athletics earned the #2 seed with a 12-1 win over the Carolina Rage - Red and a 10-2 win over RBI Raptors - Guise. In the Gold bracket semifinals, Carolina Titans Blue topped Greenville Athletics 8-5 and the Carolina MudDawgs scored a 10-0 win over the Perquimans Rivercats. In the finals, the Carolina Titans Blue notched a 10-6 win over the Carolina MudDawgs.

The 13u age group was a 5-team, 4-game round robin event. The Pitt County Diamond Dawgs went 2-0 on Saturday with a 6-2 win over the Carolina Boyz and a 9-2 win over the Carolina Trojans. They backed that up on Sunday with another 2-0 day, scoring a 6-0 win over the Garner Generals and a 9-3 win over the Wardogs to finish as the only undefeated team for the weekend.
