The first weekend of the fall season is in the books. Although there were only a handful of teams in action, fall baseball is here and with it will (hopefully) come the recaps. Here we recap the Top Gun games from Charlotte this past weekend.

Team 24 Gamecocks - Clayton (SC) went 2-0 in pool play with an 11-7 win over the Cabarrus Bandits and a 17-2 win over the Anson Raptors and reached the finals in this one-day event. The Kings Mountain Storm also went 2-0 in pool play with a 16-4 win over the Raptors and a 10-4 win over the Bandits. In the finals, Team 24 topped the Storm 13-6 to take one the title.

Team 24 Gamecocks - Bailey (SC) impressed on Saturday, going 2-0 in pool play with a 23-4 win over Raptors Baseball and a 14-0 win over Elite Baseball and earned the top seed for bracket play. Battalion (SC) earned the #2 seed after a 10-2 win over Gators Baseball - Hardy and an 11-4 loss to Elite Baseball. In the bracket play play-in game, #4 seed Raptors Baseball topped #5 seed Gators Baseball - Hardy 11-1. In the semifinals, Battalion fell 9-7 against Elite Baseball, and Team 24 topped Raptors Baseball 11-0. In the finals, Team 24 edged Elite Baseball 11-10 to finish out the weekend 4-0.

The 12u age group consisted of a 3-team double-round robin format. On Saturday, Rawlings Stars National (SC) went 2-0 with a 4-3 win over Grand Slam USA Stars and an 11-10 win over the Vision Bandits. The Vision Bandits scored a 13-1 win over Grand Slam on Saturday as well. On Sunday, the Vision Bandits topped the Rawlings Stars 17-1 and scored a 15-12 win over Grand Slam to finish 3-1 for the weekend. The Stars blanked Grand Slam 11-0 in their other game on Sunday to also finish 3-1 for the weekend. The Vision Bandits ended up taking home the title with 29 runs allowed, compared to 30 runs allowed for Rawlings Stars National.

In the 13u age group, RBA White went 2-0 on Saturday with a 13-7 win over the Mooresville Biscuits and a 7-4 win over Spartans Gold to finish with the #1 seed for bracket play. The Spartans fell 10-6 against Brohamer Baseball (SC) in their other pool play game on Saturday. Brohamer also scored an 8-3 win over Elite Baseball in pool play, while Elite Baseball also scored a 13-7 win over the Biscuits to finish 2-0 in pool play. In the semifinals, Spartans Gold topped Elite Baseball 14-3 while the Biscuits scored a 7-5 win over RBA White to reach the finals. In the finals, Spartans Gold topped the Biscuits 12-3.
