Top Gun had several sites rained out this weekend, however teams were still able to get in some baseball this weekend at various sites. There were numerous ranked teams including nearly a dozen top 10 teams, with several playing up. The 10 and 12u age groups in Charleston saw multiple match ups with ranked teams, including some great games between #2 Minion, #6 East Rowan, and #7 Majestic Greensboro. #6 East Rowan topped #18 Mission Vipers Gold 10-0 and the Carolina Prospects (SC) 14-1 in their pool play games. Mission Gold beat the Carolina Prospects 8-4 in their other pool play game. #19 Mission Vipers Black went 2-0 in pool play with a 9-2 win over the Charleston Revolution (SC) and a 16-1 win over Aces – Hartsell. In the bracket play play-in games, Mission Vipers Gold beat the Carolina Prospects 12-2 and the Charleston Revolution topped Aces – Hartsell 10-0. In the semifinals, East Rowan beat Mission Gold 13-5 and the Revolution topped Mission Black 13-8. In the finals, East Rowan completed a 4-0 weekend with a 7-1 win over the Charleston Revolution.

The Vision Bandits went 2-0 in pool play with a 7-4 win over the Hanahan Hawks (SC) and a 6-3 win over Dirtbags Gold. Dirtbags Gold scored a 12-2 win over Down South (GA) in their other pool play game. In bracket play, the Vision Bandits topped the Hawks 10-8 and Dirtbags Gold beat Down South 15-11. In the finals, the Vision Bandits topped Dirtbags Gold 5-1.

In bracket play, East Rowan beat Team 24 Gamecocks – Brown (SC) 8-6 while Majestic Greensboro blanked Minion 4-0. In the finals, East Rowan rolled to a 12-1 win over Majestic Greensboro.

#3 Lake Norman Vipers went 2-0 in pool play with a 4-0 win over the Coul-Oak Diesel and a 19-5 win over the Blythewood Bombers and earned the top seed for bracket play. The Tega Cay Titans (SC) also went 2-0 in pool play with a 13-7 win over Cherryville Baseball and an 11-4 win over the Belmont Bandits. In the play-in games, Coul-Oak Diesel topped the Blythewood Bombers 17-11 and the Belmont Bandits beat Cherryville Baseball 9-6. In the semifinals, the Vipers topped Coul-Oak Diesel 10-4 and the Titans beat the Bandits 12-5. In the finals, the Vipers were able to score a 12-9 win over the Titans to complete an undefeated weekend.

#11 East Rowan – Smith went 1-1 in pool play with an 8-0 win over the Belmont Bandits and an 11-9 loss to #15 Lake Norman Thunder. The Thunder also scored an 18-4 win over Elite Baseball EBC to finish 2-0 in pool play. East Rowan – Bridges also went 2-0 in pool play with an 11-1 win over the Charlotte Nationals and a 14-6 win over the Storm. In bracket play, the Lake Norman Thunder topped East Rowan – Smith 9-3 and East Rowan Bridges notched an 11-3 win over the Charlotte Nationals. In the finals, the Thunder topped East Rowan – Bridges 9-3 to take home the 9u championship.

The 10u field was a large, 18-team field, including #5 Dirtbags Black, #9 Belmont Bandits, and 9u #8 Carolina Blue Mizuno. In pool play, Carolina Blue Mizuno went 2-0 with a 12-0 win over the Concord Comets and a 12-1 win over Team Carolina to secure the #1 seed for pool play. Dirtbags Black went 2-0 in pool play with a 3-1 win over the Belmont Bandits and a 19-0 win over Ultimate Performance. The Bandits scored an 11-1 win over Palmetto Xpress (SC) in their other pool play, but unfortunately were relegated to the Silver bracket as 6 teams went undefeated in pool play and only 5 qualified for the Gold bracket. The Triple Crown Lookouts were one of those teams who went 2-0 in pool play with a 15-0 win over Elite Baseball EBC and a 16-9 win over Copperheads – Snell/Heis. In the Gold bracket play-in game, the Triple Crown Lookouts scored a 12-10 win over Heat Baseball. In the semifinals, Triple Crown Lookouts topped Carolina Blue Mizuno 15-6 and Dirtbags Black rolled to a 17-0 win over Battalion. In the finals, the Lookouts scored a 14-8 win over Dirtbags Black to take the 10u title. Of note, the Belmont Bandits went 2-0 in the the Silver bracket with a 12-4 win over the Blythewood Bombers and a 17-3 win over the SBA Canes LKN.

#1 Carolina Blue Sox went 1-1 in pool play with an 11-4 win over Carolina Blue Mizuno and a 5-4 loss to #6 LKN Attack. The 1-1 performance relegated the Blue Sox to the Silver bracket for Sunday. The Attack scored a 6-5 win over Carolina Blue Mizuno, who had an exceedingly difficult pool play draw, in their other pool play game. The SBA Canes earned the topped seed for pool play with a 13-2 win over Ultimate Performance – Johnson and an 11-4 win over the MCOC Miners. The Coul Oak Hurricanes went 2-0 in pool play with an 11-1 win over Team 24 Gamecocks – Latham (SC) and a 10-6 win over the Bravos. Only 4 teams qualified for the Gold bracket, and in the semifinals the Coul Oak Hurricanes topped the On Deck O’s 9-8 while the LKN Attack topped the SBA Canes 12-2. In the finals, the Coul Oak Hurricanes scored a 9-8 win over the Attack. In the silver bracket, the Blue Sox scored a 10-0 win over Team 24 Gamecocks – Latham, but were unable to get in a finals game in the Silver bracket.

Copperheads – Herkey went 2-0 in pool play with a 7-5 win over the Triple Crown Lookouts and a 14-5 win over the Lake Wylie Warriors. SBA LKN Canes – Pickard also went 2-0 in pool play with a 6-4 win over the Triple Crown Lookouts and an 11-3 win over the HQ4 Clippers. The Lake Wylie Warriors scored an 11-5 win over the HQ4 Clippers in their other pool play game. In bracket play, the Lookouts scored a 10-7 win over the Warriors and Copperheads topped the Clippers 6-3. In the finals, the Copperheads completed an undefeated weekend with a 12-6 win over the Lookouts.

The Carolina Tide went 2-0 in pool play with a 6-5 win over Elite Baseball EBC and an 8-1 win over the Carolina Kraken powered by OTK. The On Deck O’s went 1-1 in pool play with an 11-2 win over Elite Baseball EBC and an 8-3 loss to the Kraken. In the semifinals, the Kraken notched a 10-8 win over the On Deck O’s while the Tide beat Elite Baseball 11-3. In the finals, the Kraken rolled to a 9-1 win over the Tide.

Elite 9 Tomahawks (SC) went 2-0 in pool play with a 14-4 win over Team Carolina and a 20-3 win over the HQ4 Clippers. The OTK Saints also went 2-0 in pool play with a 14-5 win over the Belmont Bandits and an 8-5 win over Cherryville Baseball. In the bracket play play-in games, Team Carolina topped Cherryville Baseball 10-2 while the Bandits scored a 10-5 win over the Clippers. In the semifinals, the Tomahawks blanked Team Carolina 9-0 and the OTK Saints scored a 9-1 win over the Bandits. In the finals, the Tomahawks beat the Saints 4-2 to finish 4-0 for the weekend.

The NC Arsenal earned the #1 seed after going 2-0 in pool play with a 10-0 win over the GSB Grizzlies – Claws and an 11-1 win over Copperheads – Evernham. Rivals Baseball (SC) earned the #2 seed with an 11-1 win over Bulldogs – Dallas and a 2-1 win over Heat Black. Heat Black topped the Stealth Elite Pelicans 14-2 in their other pool play and qualified for the #4 seed for Gold bracket play. The Lake Norman Wildcats also went 2-0 in pool play with a 9-1 win over the HQ4 Clippers Blue and a 3-2 win over the Park Sharon Nationals. In the Gold bracket play-in game, Heat Black topped OTK – Maggs 9-5. In the semifinals, the Lake Norman Wildcats notched a 13-9 win over Rivals Baseball while Heat Black beat NC Arsenal 10-8. In the finals, Lake Norman was able to edge out Heat Black for a 4-3 win.

The Carolina Raiders went 0-2 on Saturday with a 12-4 loss to the Padres and a 19-12 loss to NSA. On Sunday, NSA topped the Padres 18-4 while the Stars beat the Raiders 9-6. In the finals, NSA beat the Stars 13-10.

In the finals, Pirates Elite won a slugfest over the Kings, scoring a 20-19 win.
