Top Gun Triangle Region Preview 9/8-9/9/18

This will be a huge weekend of baseball as the fall season kicks in to high gear. The Triangle Region Top Gun site will have 95 teams in action, including 78 in the 9u, 11u, 12u, and 13u age groups. Some of the best teams in the state from this past spring including 2017-2018 12u #1 Canes Baseball – Eastern NC (previously Legends Baseball). Here’s a brief rundown of some of the weekend’s best games and potential match ups. 

Top Gun Recap Charlotte 9/1-9/2/2018

37 teams were in action in the two-day competition, and 5 more competed in the 12u one-day Top Gun events in Charlotte this past weekend. Multiple Team 24 Gamecocks, LBC, and SBA teams faced off in some great early Fall season competition. Here we recap the weekend’s games. 

Top Gun 12u Summer World Series Recap 2018

The 12u Top Gun Summer World Series featured a 19-team D1 division, a 22-team D2 division, and a 21-team D3 division. The D1 division had 8 of our top 20 teams as well as perhaps the top team in the state of Virginia in Team Dirty South Venom from Williamsburg, VA. Here we recap the games from another exciting SWS weekend.

Top Gun 10u Summer World Series Recap 2018

7 of the our top 10 teams and 8 of our top 20 10u teams in the state of North Carolina were in action in the D1 10u field this weekend. In addition, perhaps two of the best teams in the state of Virginia in the Virginia Stars – Camp and the Tidewater Horns (D1), as well as two more top 20 teams (D2) were in action this weekend as well. Needless to say, the 10u Top Gun Summer World Series  was one of the top 10u tournaments in the state this spring. Here’s a recap of the weekend’s games.

Top Gun 13u Summer World Series Recap 2018

There were 4 divisions of play and 42 teams total in action in the 13u age group this weekend at the Summer World Series. #1 Canes Baseball NC – Gallaher showed again why they are the top 13u team in the state with an impressive run through the D1 60/90 division. Here’s a recap of the weekend’s games. 

Top Gun 11u Summer World Series Recap 2018

With 3 top 20 teams in the D1 field and another in the D2 field, as well as two of the top teams from the state of Virginia, there was plenty of high-level baseball being played last weekend at the 11u Summer World Series. 10 teams squared off in the D1 division, and there were 23 teams in each of the D2 and D3 divisions, making this is largest age group of the weekend by number of teams. Top Gun 9u Summer World Series Recap 2018

5 top 20 teams in the D1 division. 3 top 20 teams in the D2 division. 8 total top 20 teams, including 5 of the top 15 in action this weekend at the Summer World Series. In addition to some of the best teams from North Carolina, several of the best teams for surrounding states were in action as well in the 9u fields. Top Gun 8u Summer World Series Recap 2018

6 of our top 12 8u teams were in the Open division with another ranked team in the D3 division this weekend in Rocky Mount. We got to see numerous head-to-head match ups amongst some of the best teams in the state. In the end West Raleigh Blue showed this spring they are picking up where they left off with a 6-0 weekend and 8u open title at the Summer World Series. In the D3 division, the Weddington Wolves bounced back from a 2-2 performance in pool play to take the title. Take a look at our recap of the 8u age group from the Top Gun Summer World Series.

Top Gun Summer World Series Weekend #1 Preview 2018

Perhaps the biggest youth baseball tournament in North Carolina has arrived. Split over two weekends, the Top Gun Summer World Series attracts over 300 teams from 5 states including North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia. In the first weekend, the 8u, 9u, 11u, and 13u (and 15u) age groups will be in action. Dozens of our top 20 teams in all the age groups will be in action this weekend. Top Gun Snow Hill All Stars Recap 6/9-6/10/18

All Stars season has now arrived. With that comes some new teams as well as travel teams who also play recreation and all stars baseball together. While we will not ordinarily cover the various all stars tournaments, we’ve covered the Top Gun event in Snow Hill as a couple of top 15 8u teams were in the field.
