Top Gun Umpire Training Event Preview Goldsboro 2/16-2/17/19

Schedules are posted and the first weekend of travel baseball in North Carolina is soon to be underway. If you or your team has never participated in an Umpire Training event, these games are generally approached in one of two ways: 1) as a scrimmage or 2) as a regular game. While this might produce some interesting or unexpected results, they are a great way for teams to get in some game situation work in a low stress environment, early in the season, on an actual baseball field. Here we highlight some of the top teams in action this weekend.  

Top Gun Winter Nationals Recap 2018

Teams from North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia descended on Georgetown, South Carolina this past weekend to compete at the Top Gun Winter Nationals. 5 ranked teams, including 13u #1 Dirtbags MVP. Here we provide a brief recap of the games this past weekend from South Carolina.

Top Gun Winter World Series (10u & 12u) Preview 2018

The second week of the Top Gun Winter World Series (WWS) will take place this weekend in the Rocky Mount area. 10u and 12u teams (as well as 14u and 16u) will be in action and some of the very best teams in both age groups are scheduled to play. Top Gun 13u WWS Recap October 2018

The 13u age group had 79 teams spread across 5 division in what was one of the largest single 13u events of the fall. There were a lot of great teams in action and some really outstanding play all weekend. Here we recap the weekend’s games and highlight some of the best team performances.

58 teams were split across 3 divisions at the 11u Top Gun Winter World Series this past weekend. The D1 division featured 6 of our top 10 and 10 of our top 20 teams, as well as the defending Top Gun Summer World Series champions Virginia Stars – Camp. Top Gun WWS 8u-9u Recap October 2018

It was a big weekend at the Top Gun Winter World Series this past weekend. We’ll start our recaps with the 8u and 9u age groups. Both the #1 8u and 9u teams were in the fields, as well as multiple other top 10 and 20 teams. It made for some great games excellent baseball all weekend. We didn’t do very well in our predictions in these age groups, but to use the old adage, “that’s why they play the game.” Here we recap the 8u and 9u games from this past weekend at the Top Gun WWS.

Top Gun WWS Preview (8u, 9u, 11u, 13u) Fall 2018

Here it is. The first weekend of the Top Gun Winter World Series will take place this weekend. This is annually one of the biggest tournaments of the fall season in North Carolina, and there are dozens of ranked teams in action. Top Gun Recap Fayetteville/Greensboro/Indian Trail 10/13-10/14/18

Top Gun saw a handful of other ranked teams in action at the Fayetteville, Greensboro, and Indian Trail sites. The ranked teams performed well with 9u #4 East Rowan, 11u #7 Dirtbags Black, and 12u #5 Canes Baseball NC – Simpson all taking home titles this weekend.
