Top Gun Winter World Series (8u, 9u, 11u & 13u) Recap 2019

171 teams across 4 age groups were in action this past weekend at the first weekend of the Top Gun Winter World Series (WWS). There were some great match ups between ranked teams, and a bunch of statements were made. Here we review the weekend’s games and provide some thoughts on the result.

Around the State Recap (Perfect Game/USSSA/NCGameOn) 10/12-10/13/19

There were a number of games between ranked teams this past weekend at the NCGameOn and USSSA sites this past weekend. In addition, there was a huge 13u Perfect Game Super 25 qualifier event in Kannapolis that saw 8 of our top 20 teams in action. Around the State Recap (Top Gun) 10/12-10/13/19

Despite rain on Sunday, there were dozens of ranked teams in action this past weekend across the Top Gun sites in the Carolinas. This included 6 top 20 teams in the 12u field at the Triangle region site and several games between top 10 and 20 teams. Here we recap the games from this past weekend.

It was another exciting weekend of games at the USSSA and NCGameOn sites this past weekend. Multiple ranked teams were in action, including an 8u top 5 match up in Clemmons. Here we recap the weekend of games from the USSSA and NCGameOn sites around North Carolina.

Over a dozen ranked teams were in action across the various Top Gun sites this past weekend. There were some impressive performances as well as multiple games between top 10 and 20 teams. Here we recap the weekend’s games from the Top Gun sites across the Carolinas this past weekend. 

USSSA Jay Criscione Super NIT Recap October 2019

15 ranked teams from North Carolina, including 6 top 10 teams in the 12u age group, made the trip down to South Carolina this past weekend for the Jay Criscione Super NIT. Teams from 7 different states were in attendance and fields included some of the very best teams in the Southeastern US. We learned a lot about several North Carolina teams this weekend and there are sure to be a few shake ups in the rankings this week. Around the State Recap (PG/USSSA/NCGameOn) 9/28-9/29/19

3 teams who finished in our top 20 in the 12u age group traveled to Virginia for the Perfect Game Super 25 Qualifier this past weekend. The Charlotte USSSA saw multiple games between top 5 and 20 teams, including a contest between teams from the same organization who finished last year as the #1 team in the 1ou age group and #2 team in the 11u age group, as well as a finals match up between teams who finished 2nd and 3rd in our 11u age group last year. Roughly a month into the fall season, we are starting to learn more about who’s who across the age groups in North Carolina. The 8u Area Stars Orange impressed, as did their 9u counterparts. The Dirt Devils posted an impressive weekend in the 10u age group, and top 10 teams from last year, 11u Carolina Blue Trifecta and 12u NCDB Rivercats 1, showed why they belong in the discussion of best teams in their respective age groups. Around the State Recap (Top Gun) 9/21-9/22/19

There were a number of ranked teams in the various Top Gun fields this past weekend. In addition, there were several very competitive fields that contained multiple ranked teams such as the 10u field in Snow Hill (4 ranked teams) and the 11u field in Charlotte (2 ranked teams, top ranked team in South Carolina). Around the State Recap (PG/USSSA/NCGameOn) 9/21-9/22/19

There were some big events this past weekend, including Perfect Game events for both the 11u and 12u age groups in Greensboro. The 12u Perfect Game event, in particular, featured 6 of the final top 10 teams in this age group from last year. In the end, the Rawlings Prospects made the first big statement of the fall in the 12u age group as they dominated the competition in Greensboro. Elsewhere, 11u Park Sharon Nationals – Pirro continued to add to their case as the top 11u team in North Carolina with another Perfect Game title. We also saw a number of ranked teams from last year in action and some great games all over the state.
