End of Fall Recap 12u 2017

Unlike some of the other age groups, the 12u age group is a very top-heavy age group with several teams having separated themselves from the rest of the age group. Notably, one of the top teams in this age group from this past Spring, Evoshield Canes NC – Harland, was not in action this fall. That allowed several teams to separate themselves a bit from the rest of the age group. In particular, East Rowan, Minion, and Legends Baseball appear to be the top teams in this age group, and East Rowan ended up our #1 after their performance at the Top Gun Winter World Series.

End of Fall Recap 11u 2017

The 11u age group was perhaps the most competitive age group in North Carolina this fall. While SBA Canes – Ross was our #1 team the entire fall, the separation between them and the rest of the top 20 was considerably less than in other age groups. It just so happened that no one team could separate themselves from the pack this fall to unseat the Canes as the top team. Unlike the 10u age group, many of the top teams in the 11u age group did not go head-to-head, making direct comparisons somewhat challenging. This is an age group where I would expect to see considerable changes as the Spring progresses.

End of Fall Recap 10u 2017

The 10u age group started with one dominant team, Evoshield Canes NC – Gilchrist, and ended with a much more competitive balance as things progressed. Many of the top teams faced one another and we were able to see some excellent baseball played by many of these teams.

End of Fall Recap 9u 2017

The 9u division saw some outstanding teams, many of whom went head-to-head, representing a multitude of regions throughout the state. Although it was difficult to feel all teams were appropriately slotted, we feel strongly that our top team was deserving of that spot.

End of Fall Recap 8u 2017

It was a great fall season for the 8u division, with many of these teams experiencing travel ball for the first time. Although this age group doesn’t have the same volume of teams as the older age groups, there are certainly numerous quality teams all across the state.

Top Gun Winter National Championships 2017 Recap

AAU Winter World Series 2017 Recap

It was a great end-of-season event for the AAU in Oxford. Congrats to the new Winter World Series champions, and to all teams in action this past weekend, you’ve earned a few months of rest before the Spring season gets rolling again!
