USSSA Fall 2018 Beast of the East Recap

The USSSA Fall Beast of the East (BoE) saw some of the very best teams in North Carolina and beyond come together for an outstanding tournament. Rain tried to ruin it, but after some delays and postponed Friday games, the tournament was able to be completed for all age groups. It was a huge weekend for SBA teams with tournament titles at 9u, 11u, and 12u, and the 9u and 12u teams making strong cases to assume the #1 ranking in their respective age groups this week.  Here we recap the exciting weekend of play at the USSSA Fall BoE.

Top Gun 13u WWS Recap October 2018

The 13u age group had 79 teams spread across 5 division in what was one of the largest single 13u events of the fall. There were a lot of great teams in action and some really outstanding play all weekend. Here we recap the weekend’s games and highlight some of the best team performances. 

Top Gun WWS Recap 11u October 2018

58 teams were split across 3 divisions at the 11u Top Gun Winter World Series this past weekend. The D1 division featured 6 of our top 10 and 10 of our top 20 teams, as well as the defending Top Gun Summer World Series champions Virginia Stars – Camp. There were a lot of huge match ups and exciting results. Here we recap the results from the 11u WWS from this past weekend.

Top Gun WWS 8u-9u Recap October 2018

It was a big weekend at the Top Gun Winter World Series this past weekend. We’ll start our recaps with the 8u and 9u age groups. Both the #1 8u and 9u teams were in the fields, as well as multiple other top 10 and 20 teams. It made for some great games excellent baseball all weekend. We didn’t do very well in our predictions in these age groups, but to use the old adage, “that’s why they play the game.” Here we recap the 8u and 9u games from this past weekend at the Top Gun WWS.

Top Gun Recap Fayetteville/Greensboro/Indian Trail 10/13-10/14/18

Top Gun saw a handful of other ranked teams in action at the Fayetteville, Greensboro, and Indian Trail sites. The ranked teams performed well with 9u #4 East Rowan, 11u #7 Dirtbags Black, and 12u #5 Canes Baseball NC – Simpson all taking home titles this weekend. Top Gun Recap Charlotte 10/13-10/14/18

It was another big weekend at the Top Gun site in Charlotte. Numerous top 20 teams were in action, with several going head-to-head including a match up of the the #2 and #3 12u teams in Dirtbags Charlotte and SBA Premier. Here we recap the weekend’s Top Gun games from Charlotte. 

AAU Recap Clemmons/Oxford 10/13-10/14/18

Several dozen teams were in action at the Clemmons and Oxford AAU sites this past weekend. Several ranked teams put up impressive weekends, and the 10u Pfafftown Raiders staked their claim to be considered among the top 10u teams in North Carolina. USSSA Recap Charlotte 10/13-10/14/18

There was a big time, top 5 match up in the 9u age group as well as multiple titles for the SBA teams in Charlotte this weekend. Here we recap the weekend’s USSSA games from Charlotte this past weekend. 

Top Gun Recap Triangle Region 10/13-10/14/18

There were a lot of ranked teams in action across the Triangle region Top Gun sites this past week. We saw some really impressive performances including an all-TPA final in the 12u Open division final in Wake County. Here we recap the weekend’s Top Gun games from the Triangle area.

Perfect Game 13u Super 25 Qualifier 10/5-10/7/18

Some of the best 13u teams in the state and region descended upon Pineville to compete for a spot in the Perfect Game Super 25 National Championship next Summer. 5 of our top 10 12u teams from last year were in action with many going head-to-head. In the end, Dirtbags MVP (previously Minion) established themselves as perhaps the 13u team to beat in North Carolina with a 5-0 weekend and a tournament title.
