Several ranked teams were in action at the USSSA games in Charlotte this weekend. The 11u age group featured a huge finals match up between #1 SBA Futures and #5 Dirtbags Black that went right down to the wire. Here’s a brief recap of the USSSA games from Charlotte this past weekend.
There were a lot of ranked teams in action in the Charlotte region at the Top Gun sites this weekend. We saw the top 9u team in South Carolina (Team 24 Gamecocks – Clayton) go head-to-head with the #3 team in North Carolina (LBC Vipers) in a great finals match up. The 11u age group featured the return of one our top 20 10u teams from a year ago, the Belmont Bandits, making their debut in the 11u age group, while the 12u age group had 4 teams in our top 20 in action. NC GameOn got their spring season kicked off with an event in Wake Forest. 5 divisions across 4 age groups were in action, including several regionally and state ranked teams. Check out our recap for a rundown of the weekend’s NC GameOn games.
It was a big weekend this past weekend at Shipyard Park in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Some of South Carolina’s best were in action, and the 11u age group was perhaps the best individual age group in the region this weekend. Take a look at our recap of the weekend’s action.
Rain again slowed or cancelled some play again this weekend, however most of the games and divisions around the Triangle were able to be completed. Lots of great teams were playing up and the early season already had some great match ups. Here we recap the Top Gun games from around the Triangle and Snow Hill/Goldsboro.
Several SC USSSA sites were able to get games in this weekend. Numerous ranked teams were in action, including 1o top ten South Carolina teams and the #2 12u team in North Carolina, SBA Futures, and there was a great early season game between SC #2 St. Andrews Rocks and the SBA Futures. Mother Nature again laid waste to baseball plans across the state of North Carolina and the region this past weekend. There were, however, a handful of events and games that were able to be played at various sites. Here we recap some of the weekend’s top games.
Despite all the rain through the region, two USSSA events were played in South Carolina this past weekend. Two sites, Lexington and Myrtle Beach, were in action with Lexington planned for a two-day event, and Myrtle Beach as a Sunday-only event. Unfortunately, not all Sunday games were able to be played in Lexington. Several ranked teams were in action and here we review some of the key results from this past weekend.
11u #1 SBA Futures made the trek down to Viera, Florida to compete against some of the best teams in Florida this weekend. Included among the 23 teams in the 11u Majors division were 9 teams in Perfect Game’s 11u National top 100, and another 4 teams from their “Regional Teams to Watch List.” Needless to say, this was a loaded field that the SBA Futures were going up against to start their spring season.
The 13u age group has some of the most competitive teams in the entire Southeastern US. Dirtbags MVP, who finished #2 in our final 2017-2018 12u rankings, was #1 for the entire fall season. They stayed just ahead of #2 Canes Baseball Eastern NC, who finished #1 in our final 2017-2018 12u rankings. Between the spring 2018 and fall 2018 seasons, we saw some changes in the age group with the Park Sharon Nationals (#4 in the final 2017-2018 12u rankings) and Majestic Greensboro (#6 in the final 2017-2018 12u rankings) moving over to the Dirtbags organization to become Dirtbags Nationals and Dirtbags TBM, respectfully. Here we recap and provide the rationale for our final 13u rankings for the fall 2018 season.
