Perfect Game Greensboro 13u Super 25 Qualifier Recap

8 of our top 20 13u teams were in the field Perfect Game Super 25 Qualifier field this past weekend in Greensboro. #1 Canes Baseball NC - Gallaher was the headliner, but with 19 teams representing 5 different states in the field, this was a wide open tournament. 13u #1 Canes Baseball NC - Gallaher walk-offed to a 4-3 win over Canes Baseball NC - Haire in the finals and finished 5-0 for the weekend.
Pool Play

#1 Canes Baseball NC - Gallaher went 2-0 in pool play with a 10-0 win over the Charlotte Nationals and a 17-3 win over Bomb Squad Elite. #4 Canes Baseball NC - Haire also went 2-0 in pool play with a 15-11 win over the Williamsport Angels (PA) and a 22-12 win over #12 Dirtbags Charlotte. Dirtbags Charlotte scored a 15-2 win over the CBC Blue Sox in their other pool play game. #5 Carolina Havoc - Clonch went 1-1 in pool play with a 5-4 win over 5 Star National and an 8-5 loss to #15 Rawlings Prospects NC. The Prospects also scored a 4-3 win over Silver Glove Baseball (VA) to finish 2-0 in pool play. #7 Dirtbags - Smith was 2-0 in pool play as well with a 3-2 win over the Augusta Braves (GA) and a 12-4 win over Bomb Squad Elite. #12 Canes Charlotte - Wearing went 2-0 in pool play with a 13-7 over the CBC Blue Sox and a 17-12 win over the Lynnhaven Wahoos. #16 Walk Off Warriors were also 2-0 in pool play with an 8-0 win over the Charlotte Nationals and a 13-6 win over Dirtbags Platinum - Teague.

 

 

Bracket Play

In the first round of bracket play, Canes Charlotte - Wearing notched a 13-9 win over the Lynnhaven Wahoos, Canes - Haire scored an 18-9 win over Carolina Havoc - Clonch, and Rawlings Prospects NC rolled to a 15-3 win over Warhawks Baseball. In the second round of bracket play, Canes - Wearing topped Dirtbags - Smith 12-0, the Augusta Braves scored a 7-4 win over Gameday Shockwave (SC), Canes - Haire beat the Walk Off Warriors 10-6, and Canes Baseball NC - Gallaher topped the Augusta Braves 14-7. In the semifinals, Canes - Haire scored a 14-7 win over Canes - Wearing, while Canes - Gallaher defeated Rawlings Prospects NC 12-6 to set up an all-Canes final. In an exceptional finals match up, Canes - Haire took a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the 7th inning. In the bottom half of the inning, Canes - Gallaher was able to put 3 runs across to take a walk-off 4-3 win over Canes - Haire. The win marks an impressive two weeks for Canes - Gallaher after going 7-0 and taking home the Top Gun Summer World Series title the previous weekend.
