USSSA hosted umpire training scrimmages this past weekend. There were a number of ranked teams in action, including some of the best teams in North Carolina and the Southeastern US. Here we recap some of the games from this past weekend in Charlotte.

The #4 9u team in North Carolina, the SBA Futures, played up in the 10u age group this past weekend. They went 4-0 for the weekend, scoring a 10-9 win over Five Star Vipers - Bray and a 6-4 win over Five Star Vipers - Hagen on Saturday. They followed that up with an 11-7 win over Vipers - Bray and an 8-4 win over the Charlotte Colts on Sunday.

Our #3 team in North Carolina, the Triple Crown Lookouts, went 1-1 on Sunday scoring a 16-1 win over Five Star Vipers - Bray before falling 4-2 against the LKN Lightning. The Lightning finished the weekend 3-1 with a 9-4 win over Vipers - Bray and an 11-2 win over Five Star Vipers - Hagen on Saturday, and a 14-7 loss against the SBA Nationals in addition to their win over the Triple Crown Lookouts on Sunday. The Nationals notched a 16-0 win over Vipers - Hagen in their other game on Sunday to finish the weekend 2-0.
Our #1 team, the SBA Futures, played up in the 11u age group and scored an 11-6 win over Mission Baseball - Reyer and a win over 11u #2 Park Sharon Nationals - Pirro in their two games on Sunday.

Our #2 team in North Carolina, Park Sharon Nationals - Pirro, went 1-1 this weekend, falling 5-3 against our #1 10u team, the SBA Futures, before scoring a 20-0 win over Five Star Vipers - Nichols. #9 Carolina Blue Trifecta went 2-0 on Saturday with a 23-2 win over Five Star Vipers - Nichols and an 11-2 win over Elite 9 (SC). Our #1 team in South Carolina, Team 24 Gamecocks - Ashley, went 4-0 this past weekend, blanking Vipers - Nichols 8-0 and rolling to a 16-3 win over MARA on Saturday. They followed that up with an 8-0 win over Five Star Vipers - Wright and an 11-0 win over Elite 9 on Sunday.
#3 SBA Nationals went 3-1 this weekend playing up in the 12u age group this past weekend. They scored a 13-1 win over the Carolina Reds (SC) and a 6-5 loss against #21 Carolina Spinners on Saturday. On Sunday, the Nationals topped Dilworth 13-4 and rolled to a 17-2 win over EventWitness Greenades.

Our #8 team in North Carolina, MPC, went 4-0 this past weekend with an 11-4 win over the SBA Prospects and a 13-2 win over Dilworth on Saturday, followed by a 12-1 win over the Carolina Reds (SC) and a 6-5 win over East Rowan on Sunday. #21 Carolina Spinners went 3-0-1 this past weekend with a 6-3 win over the Carolina Reds and a 6-5 win over 11u #3 SBA Nationals on Saturday. On Sunday, the Spinners tied South Carolina #7 Team 24 Gamecocks - Bailey 6-6 and topped the EventWitness Greenades by the score of 12-2.

Our #8 team in North Carolina, Five Star Carolina - Queler, went 2-1-1 playing up in the 14u age group this past weekend. They scored a 5-1 win over 13u WCW Black and an 11-1 win over the Pineville Blue Sox on Saturday. On Sunday, Five Star - Queler fell 11-4 against Cuthbertson Middle School and tied Weddington 7-7.
