There were a handful of ranked teams in action at the Clemmons and Cary/Oxford AAU sites this past weekend, including several top 20 match ups. Here we recap the AAU games from this past weekend.

#5 Davidson Crush was the highest ranked team in the 8u field this weekend in Clemmons. They went 2-0 in pool play with a 13-1 win over Five Star Carolina and a 17-6 win over East Rowan 7u. #9 DC Bombers also went 2-0 in pool play, scoring a 21-6 win over the Copperheads and a 17-9 win over Rogue Baseball. The Carolina Spinners were also 2-0 in pool play with a 16-6 win over Five Star Carolina and a 16-1 win over East Rowan 7u. In the bracket play play-in games on Sunday, Rogue Baseball edged past Five Star Carolina 13-12 and the DC Bombers blasted their way to a 14-1 win over East Rowan. In a semifinal showdown between our #5 and #9 ranked teams, #5 Davidson Crush were able to just get by #9 DC Bombers with a 19-18 win. In the other semifinal, the Carolina Spinners notched a 1-run 9-8 win over Rouge Baseball to reach the finals. In the finals, the Crush completed an undefeated weekend with a 16-12 win over the Carolina Spinners.

#10 Carolina Rockies Black went 2-0 in pool play on Saturday, scoring a 12-4 win over the Davidson County Rippers and an 11-8 win over the Luckies. #20 Summerfield Stars also went 2-0 on Saturday with a 12-2 win over the Luckies and 16-5 win over the Davidson County Rippers. In the semifinals on Sunday, the Rockies topped the Luckies 11-3 while the Stars edged past the Rippers 8-7 to set up a top 20 finals match-up. In that finals game, the Carolina Rockies Black fell behind 4-1 through 2 innings but were unable to come all the way back before falling 4-3 against the Summerfield Stars.

#20 Carolina Rockies - Mayhew was dominant in pool play, scoring a 15-0 win over the Statesville Sluggers and a 17-0 win over the Davidson Knights. Carolina Rockies - Holley also went 2-0 in pool play with a 10-5 win over the Knights and a 4-3 win over the Sluggers. In the semifinals on Sunday, the Sluggers got some revenge on Rockies - Holley with a 5-4 win, and Rockies - Mayhew scored a 15-0 win over the Davidson Knights. In the finals, Rockies - Mayhew finished off the weekend with another shut out win, notching a 15-0 win over the Statesville Sluggers. For the weekend, Rockies - Mayhew outscored their 4 opponents a combined 62-0.

#8 Five Star Carolina - Smith went 2-0 in their pool play games on Saturday blanking Carolina Rockies - Tuttle 9-0 and scoring a shut out 13-0 win over Cougars Baseball. In the semifinals on Sunday, Five Star - Smith scored a 11-0 win over Rockies - Tuttle and the Diamond Deacons edged past Select Baseball 1-0. In the finals, Five Star - Smith finished off an undefeated weekend with a 13-6 win over the Diamond Deacons

#15 NCDB Rivercats went 2-0 on Saturday with a 7-4 win over the North Wake Grays and an 8-7 win over the Gate City Gators. #19 NCABC Fungo - Piscorik also went 2-0 in pool play with a 10-5 win over the NC Heat and an 8-5 win over the Granville Rays. In the play-in games on Sunday, the Granville Rays notched a 19-11 win over the NC Heat and the North Wake Grays scored a 15-5 win over the Gate City Gators. In the semifinals, NCDB advanced to the finals with an 18-8 win over the Granville Rays and Fungo - Piscorik notched a 7-1 win over the North Wake Grays. In the finals, NCDB finished off a 4-0 weekend with a 7-1 win over Fungo - Piscorik.

D1 Performance also went 2-0 in pool play with a 14-7 win over the Squires and a 14-9 win over the Carolina Tide. In the play-in game on Sunday, Carolina Tide edged past the Virginia Squires 14-13. In the semifinals, MVP Red blanked the Carolina Tide 21-0 and D1 Performance scored a 13-5 win over the OC Crushers. Luckies - Taylor also went 2-0 on Saturday with a 9-3 over #13 Rock Solid Red and a 6-2 win over the Carolina Outlaws. Rock Solid Red scored an 11-0 win over Fungo Elite in their other pool play game. In the quarterfinals on Sunday, the Thunder topped the North Wake Chargers 12-6, the Akadema Heat blanked Fungo Elite 4-0, Rock Solid Red scored an 8-3 win over the Carolina Outlaws, and the DC Vipers edged past Luckies - Taylor 2-1. In the semifinals, the Carolina Thunder blanked the Heat 5-0 and the DC Vipers edged past Rock Solid Red 2-1. In the finals, the Carolina Thunder finished off a 5-0 weekend with a 12-4 win over the DC Vipers.

American Dream went 2-0 on Saturday with a 6-3 win over Carolina Armor Red and an 11-4 win over the North Wake Cardinals. Long Mountain Diamond Jaxx (VA) also went 2-0 in pool play with a 9-8 win over the Carolina Cubs and a 12-10 win over the Durham Blues. Rockies White went 1-1 in pool play with a 17-2 win over the Carolina Dodgers and a 10-2 loss against Squires North. In the Gold bracket play-in on Sunday, the North Wake Cardinals topped the Long Mountain Diamond Jaxx 11-9, and Rockies White scored an 11-1 win over the Carolina Cubs. In the semifinals, American Dream notched a 13-5 win over the North Wake Cardinals and Rockies White topped Squires North 9-6. In the finals, Rockies White finished off a 3-0 Sunday and a 4-1 weekend with a 14-3 win over American Dream.

In the bracket play play-in games on Sunday, the VA Squires topped the Riptide 7-3, the Crusaders scored an 11-4 win over D1 Performance, and the Rawlings Prospects notched a 7-3 win over the Carolina Outlaws. In the semifinals, Rise White rolled to a 17-2 win over the VA Squires and the Crusaders scored a 3-1 win over the Rawlings Prospects. In the finals, Rise White blanked the Crusaders 13-0 to take home the 12u title.

In the play-in game on Sunday, the Carolina Trojans scored a 13-5 win over the Clayton Stampede. In the semifinals, the Riptide rolled to a 13-3 win over the Trojans and the HYAA Hawks scored a 9-2 win over the Cary Wildcats. In the finals, the Riptide finished off an undefeated weekend with a 10-2 win over the HYAA Hawks.

#13 New Bern Flames went 0-2 on Sunday with a 6-5 loss against the Rawlings Prospects and a 13-7 loss against Dirtbags Black Raleigh. Dirtbags Black scored a 7-6 win over the Sandhills Heat in their other pool play game. In the semifinals on Sunday, Rawlings Prospects notched a 6-4 win over the Sandhills Heat and the New Bern Flames blanked Dirtbags Black Raleigh 10-0. In the finals, the New Bern Flames bounced all the way back from an 0-2 Saturday with a 9-1 win over the Rawlings Prospects to take home the 13u 60/90 title.
