Rain again slowed or cancelled some play again this weekend, however most of the games and divisions around the Triangle were able to be completed. A number of highly ranked teams will hit the field this weekend across the USSSA sites in North Carolina. This includes the #1 team in North Carolina in the 9u, 10u, and 11u age groups (SBA Futures) all playing up this weekend. South Carolina #1 Team 24 Gamecocks – Ashley will also be in the 10u field, as will North Carolina #2 SBA Nationals, which should make for an exciting division to follow.

Rain has slowed the start of the Spring 2019 baseball season across the region. That shouldn’t be a problem this weekend, as 30 teams across 4 age groups will take to the all-turf fields at Shipyard Park in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Among those 30 teams, teams from 5 states (GA, NC, SC, VA, and WV) including 8 ranked teams from North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia will be in action. Highlighting these fields will be the 11u D1 field in which 5 of the 6 teams are ranked in the top 10 in their respective states, and the 6th team almost certainly will be soon. Here we provide a brief preview of the top games this weekend in Mount Pleasant.
Several SC USSSA sites were able to get games in this weekend. Numerous ranked teams were in action, including 1o top ten South Carolina teams and the #2 12u team in North Carolina, SBA Futures, and there was a great early season game between SC #2 St. Andrews Rocks and the SBA Futures. In addition, several other ranked teams will also be in the fields which should make for some outstanding baseball.
